My opinion:

Worst line-up, to-date.
Jack Johnson even ON the bill is ridiculous, let alone a headliner.
There are a handful of decent bands/acts playing, but you can catch them at seperate more intimate shows for cheap.
Goldenvoice, Pasqual, whoever is running things this year: YOU FUCKED UP!
TICKET PRICES ARE NOT WORTH ATTENDING THIS YEAR!!!!

The way I see it, they're about equal to last years headliners. Jack Johnson and RHCP both cater to the chillout California crowd, Bjork and Portishead are both weird, downtempo electronic acts, and Roger Waters and RATM both have a pretty solid repertoire, alot of history, and an expansive fanbase.

That being said, the headliners in both years are substandard. I'm actually a bit more pissed off that 1) the second tier is so weak (Love and Rockets? Death Cab? C'mon...) and that 2) the only band that I would pay to see on Friday is Fatboy Slim, and that's really saying something.

I like Portishead, but Massive Attack were and are bigger than Portishead, and even Massive Attack didn't headline.

I've said all I care to say about Jack Johnson. I withstood enough Pink Floyd laser shows in high school to exhaust any desire to see/hear Dark Side of the Moon.

I'm excited for another year in the sun. The big thing from me this year is how many more artsits I recognized than in years past. I need to start making an extra effort to walk around the track at night. I will need the upper advantage to walk back and forth from the main stage to the dance tent.

I felt like someone punched me in the stomach when I saw the headliners. There's a lot of smaller bands that I am excited to see; Vampire Weekend, Aesop Rock, Cold War Kids, M.I.A., Stephen Malkmus, etc., but this is definitely the worst headliners I've seen at ANY big music festival. Who the hell thought that Roger Waters was a good choice to close the festival? "Dark Side of the Moon?," does that mean he's going to play that album in it's entirety? Sounds awful. Jack Johnson? Really?!...Really? At least I know I'll be beating traffic and getting a better night's sleep than in year's past. Wish I would have waited before getting a hotel. Anyone know of anything else going on in Indio that weekend? Two thumbs (and a sad hanging head) down.

Yeah personally my sentiments exactly, I need to find my RH fix.
As soon as I know where and when.. then will decide on Coachella!

Even though we all agree the headliners are not strong or even worthy, all the indie bands performing will make it an awesome fun experience!

P.S. Wish I had enough money to spare and not worry on budgeting this years weak lineup, must admit the festival experience by itself is worth it, but it does make you think twice now that we know the lineup.

rigged lineup for sure. i would like to see the verve along with portishead and a couple other bands...yes half of it is the experience, but when that experience is 90 bux a day i do not know if its worth it. noachella 08 for me.
