I first want to say its been a lot of fun hanging out here and trying to find out who's playing has been a lot of fun. aeg has done a good job holding on to the headliners and not having leaks. this makes me believe 2 things will happen. either the top tier headliners are very weak and they want to dazzle it up with a big announcement. or it will be very special

I really think the news conference is to talk about the new festival. its their glory day not ours.
However, I think Coachella will be good. It has to be better than the nightmare lineup I just awoke from.

In all seriousness, there is no way that the lineup will suck. All we all need are 15-25 bands that we love/want to see/are intrigued to see and we'll be fine. And that happens every year. Some of the bands we're going to watch this year, we don't even know how much we like them yet, and thats one of the best parts about the experience is familiarizing with new music.
Further, half of the experience is being there and half is the music. They've never dropped the ball on the music and they wont this year.

As mentioned 1,000's of times before, this will be the first Coachella I will be unable to attend since 2004, HOWEVER, the lineup announcement excitement keeps me coming back to the board as I am careening towards 1,000 posts. Deep down, a lackluster lineup would probably soothe the burn of not being able to attend for me, but I am genuinely hoping for a stellar lineup for all of you fine people to enjoy in my stead. Except for Rap/Rock Is Life. I hope he fucking keels over. Wang in '08.
