    Default ISLANDS

I heard that Islands is playing this year. Has anyone seen them before? Let me know if it was a good show. I've never seen em in concert but I'm hoping it will be great.

I haven't, but I'm looking forward to them. A friend of mine saw them when they came to the Fonda, and said they were great.

Fuck yes. The undercard needs some more bands I like and Islands would be a great addition.

I saw them open for Metric in 2005 and they were incredible. In fact, they almost stole the show. I'm told the difference between a good Metric gig and an amazing Metric gig is how high Emily Haines is at the time.

Their album had not been officially released yet, and nobody around me knew their music, but they all got into it, and some abandoned the rail in order to go buy their CD afterwards.

Islands are amazing. One of the few benefits of living in Canada is the sheer amount of times you will see a good Canadian indie band.

Islands (and their predecessor, The Unicorns) are fun to dance to (AND HAVE AN AMAZING HAND CLAPPING SEQUENCE IN ROUGH GEM) and have wonderful stage banter. Plus, they're really nice guys.

I'd look up some of their live performances on youtube. You're in for a good time, trust me.

Their burgers are so overrated. But happy hour is awesome: fries and appetizers are half price. Or they were last time I went to one.

Yes see them.. I saw them open for Metric as well and they were just awesome (as was Metric). It was one of the best overall shows I've been to, from start to finish.
