I keep hearing this shite about the Editors sounding like or copying Interpol. I don't hear it. I am not saying the Editors have a new fresh sound but DAMN they are incredible live and I just dont' hear the comparison.

"God got Wendys' period mixed up, every 28 days she starts acting nice...it lasts about a weekend."

I seen em both live and they are different. Editors are slightly happier!!!
joy division = interpol = she wants revenge = bleh.
editors too?
I originally wrote off Editors because of the whole Joy Division bandwagon thing, but they were coming to town and I got a few of their songs. The tracks were solid as was the show. I'd even say they were better live than Interpol who were more precise, play-the-album, by-the-book kinda people.
I'd say give it a chance. They're good.
It's quite simple really, if you like what you hear, listen to it.
If you've heard the sound too many times before and you're sick of it ... then turn it off.
To me ... Editors sound "brighter" then Interpol ... I may be a tad influenced by the visual interpretation, and the stage presences I've witnessed in both.
I like them both, quite a bit actually, I like both of their live shows for differing reasons. ONe being more energetic, one being more musically tight.
I can see both being compared to (influenced by) Joy Division ... but I think calling them "rip offs" is a stretch.
Finally, to the person who, in antoher thread along this vein, was "offended" by Tom Smith's stage antics, calling it insulting to Ian Curtis (who ever you are on this board) ... get over it.
Interpol remind me somewhat of The Chameleons.
I think the singers have similar voices.
RAPE STOVE
white power?!
I think Editors have a new album coming out later this year.
Editors are working on a new record and yeah hopefully it comes out this year. And a review said this was Englands answer to Interpol. Maybe thats where you are getting it, I see more similarites with Joy Division, with a tiny tiny dash of Coldplay in there too. They are not ripping anyone off, its just a sound you have heard a lot so you just are trying to find somebody to stick it to..
Editors was probably my favorite performance at Coachella 2006.
