Default question from a canadian that needs help

    hey guys.

4-6 of us are coming from toronto (flying out of buffalo)

now. i have no idea how to get from LAX to the festival. because of the number of us, plus our gear.. renting a car isnt all that ideal.

is there a bus or something we can take?

so. yea. i guess the question is.. who's got advice on how to get from LA to the festival, from people that have never been to california before.

thanks so much in advance guys and girls.

Check Greyhound.com for a bus...although it would probably be better to rent a car. You can always get a large SUV or a van, you know.

Dude, for 5 people, Greyhound from Los Angeles to Indio will be $180 roundtrip. Plus a bus or taxis from LAX to the Los Angeles bus terminal, plus taxis from the Indio bus terminal to the camping site. You'll end up spending over $210.

Just rent a minivan ($27 per day from Orbitz.com) or 2 cars ($21 per day for a compact car from Dollar Rent-a-Car).

6 day rental (ford explorer, and unlimited miles) from Budget for 3 people: $163US each. That includes the $25/day surcharge for renters between 21-24. That's what we got...

As for getting there... just look at mapquest. Obviously there are a shitload of highways... but I'm going to take the 105E to the 605N and then head east on the 10... which takes you straight in to Indio.

When are you guys leaving? We have a similar plan -> we are from Toronto but flying out from Buffalo to LAX. And here our plan ends ;-)
I have read somewhere that taking the bus from LA is the worst possible option.
    Hmm

I went on the site and the van was $201 for 6 days... plus any surcharges for those renting between 21-24, which would bring the price to roughly $350. Not bad I suppose... but I'd rather have an SUV for the extra $100.
