How come you didn't tell me you were eating dog food?
Cds or vinyl?

She added the phrase "meany head" to my profile.I hardly think I'm an attention whore.
Why are you asking us? why not find a Dj centric(is that a word?) messageboard and ask them?
Study tapes of Casey Kasem, get the timing/phrasing down. Learn to adjust your tone between the different types of intros. You're gonna want to be peppier for the congratulatory dedications and more low-key for the long-distance ones.
And make sure your producers know fucking better than to give you a dedication to a kid's fucking dead dog when coming out of a fucking uptempo track goddammit! Fucking ponderous!
I would recommend steering clear of vinyl, cds, or any medium for that matter. Laptop, mixer, and headphones should be all you need.
Thanks a million!!

Me, I'm still a believer in starting out with fingers on the vinyl, but computers are probably the way to go.
nah. I only know the basics. I'm not really into the generic DJ thing. I have however, set up beat matching playlists on my laptop for personal parties. Ableton was my friend those few times. It was on my roommate's computer though, don't know why I thought it was 6 (just checked with him and it's 7). That shit is easy to use, although I'm sure I only touched the surface.
yeah im still getting the hang of it myself. its super cool though, for sure
I'm trying to learn ableton live 7 right now.
Having a blast to say the least
They improved the nudge feature on 7 making it shitloads easier to DJ with.
Ableton 7 has great updates. Some of the inbuilt plugins have different algorithms than the previous version, and the auto filter is pretty nice too.
And this is a pretty good tutorial for Ableton
Yes yes yes!! Woo hoo![]()
