They definitely should not have been headlining. The few times I have seen them I almost fell asleep. I find their music pretty boring.

I just remember when they first came out girls were after Evan Dando kind like that Jared Leto from 30 Seconds to Mars. That's his name right? I'm too lazy to look it up.

But M Sparks, you totally explained in what I was unable to explain why I am on the fence about R.E.M. at Coachella.

Honestly for me it's always been about the undercards and early day acts. The headliners are a bonus if they're good.

Every year I have this war with my friends because they want to get there between 5 and 7pm and I want to be there for the opening acts.

We always end up in separate cars.

I totally agree and frankly Greenday is a good live band to see and if its not your thing I'm sure alternative activities can be found

I wouldn't mind REM at all.

In '07 I missed Bjork (for Gogol) and RCHP (for LCD Soundsystem) and I was perfectly fine with skipping the headliners.

I don't mind R.E.M. at all. I would love to see them. They just don't make me really giddy like previous Coachella rumors.

And now that they are playing SXSW and Langerado it seems even less exciting.

I'm used to festivals copying Coachella not the other way around.
