NOTH PALM SPRINGS LODGINGS

I'm just getting around to booking my hotel for Coachella 2008, and it looks like all the reasonable places in Indio are already gone. I've found some hotels with room still available in the North Palm Springs area--north of Interstate 10--but I am not familiar with that area. Is it generally a safe area, or should I look for a hotel closer to downtown Palm Springs?

Nothing in Palm Springs is going to be less safe than anything in Indio.

you're better off in palm springs than indio.
you can pass by in and out on the way to the coachella experience.
its at I10 and ramon if I remember right.

North Palm Springs is fine as long as it is a national chain motel

im staying in north palm springs. its perfect cuz the hotel im staying at is right off the highway only a 20-30 min drive(more if you get stuck in traffic). next to a dennys and gas stations so its all good.prices are decent..

im cool with where im at. had a good stay last time and not picky cuz the main part is beigng at the festival anyways so our budget goes to that to get some merchandise and have plenty of cash for beer and food.

That's a very nice location - you do have that right. A very short drive to anywhere in the valley when you are on the I-10. And you get to see the windmills.

Thanks, folks. I've stayed in Indio and downtown Palm Springs in years past, but I think I'm going to book a place in North Palm Springs this time, due to it's location to the I-10. Safety was my concern, but it sounds like North Palm Springs is equally as safe of downtown Palm Springs, and all the budget hotels in Indio are already gone........
