I just got a three month severence package with full benefits

That is a pretty sweet severence package, congrats. Don't wait too long to start looking though, I did that when I got 3 months severence and ended up not finding a job until a month after it ran out.

Thanks for the reality check Audra. I think I'll start looking in two weeks. I'm eligible for rehire with the same company, but would lose the severence. My plan so far would be to pick up agency shifts during August and September while job hunting, but when I find the right fit, have a start date after ATP. I could have another job this afternoon if I was willing.

I kind of feel that it'll be easier on them if I don't answer and just let them move on with the organization. That does feel a little shitty though.

Bummed I work in a little bit, but it's only an 8 hour shift so I am ok with it.
I thought I lost 900 bucks in the mail today so I was pretty crabby. It turned up.
I am kinda hungry so I think I will go get some lunch and a beer before I clock in. The view where I am eating is pretty amazing so that might put me in the good mood thread if it's not windy out.

I just had a conversation with a deaf co-worker for a few minutes, without an interpreter, that I initiated. That's not entirely unusual, as I've been learning ASL since August 2011, but I still feel good when I am able to communicate like that. And I made her laugh. I've come a long way from when I first met her, and was afraid to interact with her because of the language barrier. I know she, and the other people here who use ASL, are appreciating that I'm trying to learn and converse more with them.

Plus, I don't have an event to work this weekend and I'm seeing Margot & the Nuclear So and So's for the first time on Sunday. Good mood.


Edit: Oh, and I received an email this morning from one of my co-workers who trains new outreach coordinators (which is my position for the company). She said that, during a training session this week, one of the higher-ups in corporate used me as an example of someone who is doing a great job in the short amount of time I've been with the company. It's really nice to receive feedback like that.

This didn't destroy my day, but was enough for me to get a little grumpy. Otherwise I'm having a great day so far, went for a hike, woke up earlier than my trainer, got a great dinner date in SD on Sunday confirmed and the hike I just took caused some good regular movement.
