Would it suck, or not? I don't think it would seeing as they would have to play a bunch of new stuff, although, I don't think they would be ready to play new stuff by that time, but they are quite capable of pulling off Coachella, I'm sure.

In b4 the intelligentsia that will tell you they have no place at Coachella, that GV would be desecrating the holy site of the Polo grounds by letting them in the gate, etc, etc ad nauseum.
In reality, they would f'in rock !
yonicsouth, I hate you and your threads. Please start searching for pre-existing discussions before you start a god damned thread everytime some stupid idea pops in your head, you stream-of-consciousness d bag.
I hear Foxboro Hot Tubs are headlining Friday night.
(Taking a bow). Also, as someone who can not attend Coachella 2008, I am really REALLY hoping you lucky people get Green Day and Kanye West. And oh, say, Coldplay. And for some reason the Sahara Tent is closed.
oh touche.
You ever step into a conversation where everybody's enjoying themselves and then say something and realize that all the laughing and happiness stopped and everyone's looking at you and you're clearly completely out of your element and don't know what you're talking about?
This is then.
you're mean, i hate you.
Oh, and i'm NOT a Green Day fan, but they are really good live... and i'd be more psyched to see them then Coldplay or Kanye West... or even, say, Daft Punk or Radiohead (*gasp!* blasphemy!!!)... but, then again, i'd probably be in the Sahara Tent during Green Day anyway, so...
I just don't want Green Day at Coachella.
The problem with them is the following in order.
1) Too many extra Kroq people will be attracted to Coachella. It's bad enough that they announce the line up on Kevin and Bean now. Remember the year that Bean (maybe it was Kevin, not sure but I know it was one of them) flew into Coachella on a private helicopter. I thought it was one of the artists coming to play but no it was one of the KROQ Djs, who by the way get over a million per year each for the work they do which I find totally outrageous.
2) They're overplayed by now.
3) The people that the song American Idiot is about don't realize the song is about them and groove to it anyway.
I need to stop myself before I write a novel...
I for one would be ok with Green Day Headlining a day, that is if there is no Radiohead, Pearl Jam, or My Bloody Valentine.
If RHCP can headline then so can Green Day. I actually support this. You know the movie Blade where the vampires have their own little world but no humans know about it, they just do their own thing? Kind of like that. The Green Day fans won't have heard or be interested in any of the bands/raves I want to see so more room for me and mine, y'all.
