If it wasnt a hundred dollars I might be there.

GREAT show last night. Band sounded awesome. Tom played for about 2 and a half hours.

The guy is kinda nutty though. In addition to now allowing cameras, he demanded the AC be turned off an hour before his set started and that the bar not to serve alcohol while he was playing.

Yeah, Tom does whatever the fuck he wants. Haha.

And sadly, there was a dumb fuck behind me who yelled "Freebird". Lots of people told that guy to eat shit. Only in Texas.

Can someone suggest some a good place to start when it comes to Tom Waits? I've always liked him but never really sought out his music.

I'd say start out with Closing Time, and slowly make your way through the rest of his discography. It's a lot of fun to listen to Tom Waits change so much from album to album.

I'd say pick up Rain Dogs, Mule Variations and Alice and/or Blood Money to start.

From what I've seen, it's been on most if not all of the setlists on the tour. But, having not been to any of these shows (and hating myself more and more each day), I am no expert.

Legendary bluesman Tom Waits is set to make an announcement regarding the release of his first new material in seven years.

Waits' last solo release was 2004’s ‘Real Gone’, which was co-produced by Waits and his wife Kathleen Brennan. He has now given clues as to new music on Tomwaits.com with a post that reads: "There have been rumblings and rumors. New music from Tom Waits, you say? Come to Tomwaits.com on Tuesday August 23rd, and Mr. Waits himself will set the record straight."

However, the singer’s special announcement may have been inadvertently rumbled by information on Amazon.

The music vending website has set up a pre-order page for a new Tom Waits track called 'Bad As Me', which will be released on August 23, the day of Waits' announcement.

The listing page also features the single artwork and reveals that the track is three minutes 10 seconds long. There have been suggestions that the track will also share the name of Waits' rumoured new album.
