Agreed with both these. Some place had coconut water too - so refreshing when you've been standing in the sun for 6 hours. I've heard the frozen lemonade is to die for - never had it. And the pepinos at the Farmer's Market were a great find. This year I'll be hitting that place up before going into the festival grounds everyday.
Repost? lol. I have to go with garlic crab fries.

I understand about the whole taste aversion. In 09' I had been drinking non stop all day long then became so hungry that I scarfed some garlic fries. An hour later I had the worst headache/stomach ache so I tried to take a nap but that didn't seem to help. Then I puked in a porta potty and spent the rest of my night still with a headache...never again.

Here's a tip newbies: Have spicy pie on Sunday so you don't have a grease rush to the portopotty all weekend.
Oh man, shitting in those in the heat is pretty nasty.

January thru April 29th - The worst time of the year here.
I dig vegetarian food out of trucks. I'm hopeful that they will have some good options.
EDIT: The new "puke" posts above have convinced me to just eat granola bars.

they have air conditioned trailers in several places. like shitting in a little piece of heaven while surrounded by the heat of hell.
As long as the Kogi taco truck is there, that is the fucking win. I don't care, this shit beats Spicy Pie and Freshers in the pantheon of tasty refreshments at Coachella.
I moved away from LA a few years ago to a place that is devoid of quality Mexican food. I miss Kogi and Tito's so hard.
Grandest wake up in life is the walk from the camping spot to the breakfast burrito stand, followed by a Red on the walk back
Did anyone go to the Cantina last year, what was it like?
Was that the sit down place to the right of the entrance? I seen waffles if I'm not mistaken.
Whiskey Sour
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 cherry
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
oh snap, dedicated cantina thread right here

Lick an orange, it tastes like an orange. Lick a pineapple, it tastes like a pineapple. Go ahead, try it. Try some more. The strawberries taste like strawberries. The snozzberries taste like snozzberries! We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams. Come along, come along.
In 2011 - the Shrimp Pimp was awesome - seafood tacos, oyster po'boys mmmmmmmmm
In 2010 there was this shiny steel trailer by the ferris wheel - can't remember the name but goooood stuff there too

2009-2012 so far....
This will be my first vegan year at Coachella, anyone know the best vegan food on the fields?
12/6: Japandroids/DIIV
1/10: Mister Lies/Matthewdavid
I had a vegan curry rice bowl back in 2010 that was pretty good. I never saw them last year though so I'm not sure if they're still around.
They were there last year and the curry rice bowl was delicious. Hopefully they'll be there again this year.

2014?
The tent at the farmers market with the fresh squeezed strawberry juice! that stuff is GODLY in that heat
The freebirds burritos were excellent. Good quality, filling and not too expensive.
And on a side note, LA doesn't have the best mexican food. San Diego does.

I got some guacamole from a truck last year that saved my life. Came with dank chips. Can't remember the name of the truck, but I remember a big cartoon picture of an avocado on it.
"some terrible vegan shit" sounds decent
this yr in the campgrounds there will be a sit down restraunt done by the lime truck for your breakfast and late night needs so for it looks good but in the pat i enjoyed the border grill truck and the smoothes where a good start to the day also spicy pie is good as well the farmers market nothing like fresh fruit first thing in the morning also i liked the baby coconutsand the water inside the coconuts where wonderfull. coachella dose a good job with the food
