Favorite Coachella Food Vendors?

It seems to me that there IS good food to be found at reasonable prices. My favorite vendor is a certain taco stand that serves great chicken soft tacos. I saw a lady get covered in salsa after squeezing the plastic bottle too hard. I think maybe a chunk of tomato was stuck in the nozzle, and she just kept squeezing it until it exploded. Anybody care to offer up some favorites?

there was a taco stand inside the beer garden by the sahara tent that made some really good tacos for a cheap price. also there was a pizza place at the garden between the 2 outdoor stages that made some good lasagna and pizza. i dont expect great cuisine, but good decent slop and those 2 were very good for slop!

by the camping ground i had the really stringy curly fries smothered in velveta cheese, nummy.. The hamburgers and garlic fries i liked.. I have yet to be dissapointed by the food, but i have never had a gyro..

the vegi-dogs were very good
as were the vegi wraps.
there was some good mexican food but i dont rember the name of the stand.
I was very happy with the food last year.

I got some garlic parmesean fries in 2006, which were tasty times, especially since they gave me ranch for dipping.

The pizza counter is like a 5 star Michelin Hotel compared to the grog they throw onto your plate over here!

I enjoy the chicken tikka-masala that moves from year to year. Watch out for flies.

I thought it was helpful how they broke up the food vendors by region this year.

But by far the most entertainment in the food area is watching people get sick when they drink booze with a fully load funnel cake.

Or watching someone trying to handle those giant pizza slices on those tiny flimsy paper plates.

Whoever brought the stand with different kinds of fruit drinks was the best. The pineapple juice kicked ass in the heat. Then at the bottom of the cup youre left with ice and real pineapple, which is awesome to chew on.

A couple of years there was a pizza place that had vegan pizza, with hummus, pesto, lots of veggies. Best food I have had there. There was also a Indian stand with curry with real saffron. Yummy! One place had raw, organic, vegan brownies, etc. Very tasty. I try to avoid the greasy or sugary food when I am out in the hot sun all day.

The real fruit smoothies are absolutely fantastic. I love them. They are sweet and cold and perfect. Damn I want one now.

I tried the calamari last year and I never had greasier food in my life. It made me ill. Way too much breading and deep fried to death.

The pizza for the people group who worked out of an ice cream truck offered great pizza a few years back.

The BBQ vendors hit the spot this year. I need to check the Stagecoach website to see who won the BBQ contest.

For the second year in a row, the Sweet Leaf booth continued to supply great tasting tempeh burgers, fruit smoothies, ice cold apple juice, and great tasting tea.



The only complaint is that EVERY coffee vendor does not offer decaf coffee. This suck at night when a nice hot cup is in order. Damm you coffee vendors.

Did anyone try the Brazilian barbeque? I think it was the tri-tip that I tried. It was alright kinda tough to bite. 8 dollars for half a pound was not bad.

Yes! If its the same place I'm thinking of, there was a veggie mexican food stand over by the outdoor theater that was fucking awesome. There quesadilla's and burritos kicked ass. Also some burgers and veggie burgers that were being barbeque'd over by the entrance rocked.

They need more breakfast joints over by the tents tho! That egg and that unnatural squeezed cheese sandwiches were not cutting it..
