Boourns, you didn't see very many acts at I'll Be Your Mirror. Are you only counting full sets or did you just not care about watching that many bands?

I'd like to see him when he's in LA, but I have reservations against the Sunset Music Festival.
That sounds like one hell of a great night in San Diego.... Well, I saw Manson in Germany in June 07 and the set felt so flat and hearing If I was Your Vampire was just painful, but 08 in a tiny venue was incredible, with the Patti Smith cover Rock N Roll ****** rockin the place! Sunset Music Festival...Manson+Bad Religion....plus hometown Offspring crowd would be a blast in my eyes. Id go if I were you. But ya, festival vs headlining theatre set are totally different. Hopefully the 3 night 3 album residency tour happens.
    Upcoming Shows:
    Kasabian/Bo Ningen: 10/1 @ Metro
Coachella: 4/10-12 @ Empire Polo Fields

I got to hear him play that last time, I was amazed as anything of POAAF or SLC other than Lunchbox/Sweet Dreams is pretty rare for Manson to play. That's too bad he was off for you in 07, he opened up with that at Verizon in Irvine and it sounded amazing (which has been rare for most of my shows at that Venue, specifically NIN/JA tour ), my friend even kept rocking even though she was so wasted she could only rock while sitting down and barfing her brains out.

Sunset festival is right next to me, but I've seen so much good in the past, it feels like chasing a dragon. Especially Manson in a festival environment that lacks its luster. I'd just want to see Manson, but I don't want to spend any money on a shit show that may be too over crowded. Although some paper ingesting might make it worth it. I was a sober child when I saw Manson back in the day.

Now this 3 night 3 album ? If I could hear ACS-MA-Holywood 3 nights in a row, with the stage setups/wardrobe similar to those tours. I would fucking explode and possibly chase that tour in a few cities.

started doing it, then got incredibly bored. Seen a lot of good bands and special shows though.

Lehorne, you, Suprefan and I can all just circle jerk each other with our shoebox(s) of ticket stubs and scoff at these fools who have typed.

Oh ye of little faith. I've got my stubs saved, but increasingly (as y'all have noted) stubs don't show up, ro they take them at the show. Guest lists suck for that purpose.

I don't know, I think most who post here have seen way, wayyy more shows than me. Grade A music lovers of the highest degree.

I have a lot of the stubs, and I keep a word document of the things...the festival stuff is a little hard. There are a couple things I'm not totally sure on, but that is pretty much it. I'm from ventura county actually! SB is just very close and I love to go up there for shows.

got it. I wish i wrote down what shows I went to. That is a really good idea. But then I'd have to admit to embarrassing ones like Aaron Carter.

That's the best part, all the ones that in retrospect you wonder, "What was I thinking?!" I don't regret seeing Incubus, but I do regret showing up early to see 30 Seconds to Mars. It was 2002, how was I to know?

30 Seconds to Mars were pretty good when I saw them, but Mute Math definitely stole the show. Leto is a pretty good showman I must say.

30 Seconds to Mars have vastly improved since 2002, which was pretty easy to do considering how bad they were up until A Beautiful Lie was released

He didnt care about seeing anything that wasnt an act he knew of beforehand, and also not containing a femaile of asian descent. Although his review for the weekend was 50 pages long, maybe a page of that is about the music.

A friend of mine who's 32 years old has gone to just over 400 shows and brags that he'll someday hit 1000. Knowing that almost everyone's concert going tends to slow down with middle age, I told him in a one-sided deal that I would give him $1000 if he ever hits 1000 shows.

I honestly won't mind giving him the $1000 because lets face it, that's a pretty ridiculous feat. Out of curiosity, has anyone on here aside from SonofHal hit the 1000th mark or is somewhat close to doing it?

Nope. I'm nearing halfway after 8 years of consistent concert going.

Whats the story supre? You either got conned into being their roadie or you were trying to fuck the drummer's sister is my guess.

Neither, although the roadie thing has some truth.

Good question. I thought I had fairly full days, really. Looking back at the set times...
Friday: all of Cults, getting caught in that rain storm, second half of Album Leaf, met up with a Primavera buddy, a couple Chavez songs, exploring, shopping, pooping, and attempting to dry off, most of Shellac, met up with a new friend, Jeff Mangum, a couple Bonnie Prince Billy songs, saying meh and going to play pinball.
Saturday: the two all-nighters I endured prior to arriving in Jersey were kicking my ass, as were the alcohol and a cold so I didn't make it out and about until around 3, played more pinball, Oneida from 4-6ish, a couple Pop Group songs, Battles, Swans, Portishead
Sunday: Shellac, DD/MM/YYYY, Deerhoof, meetup at that bar with the $2.50 beer, penultimate Earth song, Manorexia, Public Enemy, Portishead

I always do full sets unless I'm not feeling it and leave early or I have to bail because of conflicts or meetups. So only a few significant periods of downtime, really. I guess I should have seen seen some Silver Mt Zion instead of waiting around for Portishead, but, hey, rail. Never made it into the lanes for Factory Floor because of that line. After that it was wandering around looking for someone still serving food and waiting for one friend to get that awkward "okay, we're getting a cab to the hotel now, but, um, we'll text you when it's cool to come back to the room" text.
7/26 Au Revoir Simone @ The Roxy, 8/1 Arcade Fire, the Unicorns, Dan Deacon at the Forum, 8/2 Burger a-Go-Go, @ Observatory, 8/9 Warpaint @ Observatory, 8/10 Warpaint @ The Ace, 8/23-24 FYF Fest, 9/11 Swans @ Roxy, 9/18 Neutral Milk Hotel @ Hollywood Bowl, 9/19 Chvrches @ Palladium, 9/30 Cibo Matto @ the Roxy, 10/9 Zola Jesus @ El Rey, 10/16 Massive Attack @ Greek Theater, 10/26 Asobi Seksu & Slowdive @ Royale

And for the record, I don't blame bmack for the 30 Seconds to Mars show way back then. Their first album is actually not awful, it's only after that they turned into cow shit. That first album is some surprisingly decent space rock.

I've got a copy of the first album signed by the band. I'll sell it to ya!

Yeah, they weren't horrible either. Incubus was better though.
