Maybe some West Coast rappers, considering it is LA, like Xzibit, Ice Cube, or The Game, etc. I think it would be cool...for such a huge festival, they should add to that genre a little bit.
    Prince Or MC HAmmer ok?

    Yo... Easy..,

    MF Doom

Team him up w/Dangermouse, who I'm certain will be at Coachella. As he produced The Good, The Bad, and The Queen's new album... OR:

W/Madlib as Madvillian...One of the best hip-hop albums of the past 5 years..

this thread is a bit ridiculous in that no one commented on the fact that BROTHER ALI is gonna be at coachella on friday.

d-load or check out his stuff on his site: www.rhymesayers.com

ive been knocked back by his skills since day one.
hes featured in this months URB magazine. he'll be large, mark my words.

Don't sleep on Spank Rock. Tha ti ssome of the freshest hip-hop out right now. I think J5 or the fugees would be the only mainstream artists to ever get booked here. I think the mix is just right at the festival.

If the Game was booked, I wouldn't go.

    Cool Re: Rap Music

I really wanna see MC Chris - I was hoping that my other favorite fringe rapper would be making an appearance but he's gonna be on tour, its this guy that does a buisness seminar through rap called Pyramid $keem, its amazing ( www.pyramidskeem.com or myspace.com/pyramidskeem ). His website is amazing, and he even has a 24hr hotline you can call. amazing raps to.

    Blackstar would be dope.
    Common last year was cool.
    Saul Williams!
    J5
    Jedi Mind Tricks
    The Beatnuts

There are so many good hip hop artists....but the Game??? Xzibit????....howabout 50Cent...NOT. Just my opinion, but that is half of what is wrong with hip hop, the other half being "southern rap". We be ridin dirty dirty.....puke!

I'm a big hip-hop guy and I'm quite pleased with the hip-hop at Coachella:
-The Roots (nuff said, I'm actually seeing them tonight in Vancouver), Brother Ali, DJ Shadow, El-P, Ghostface Killah, Lupe Fiasco, Pharoahe Monch, The Coup... that's a pretty sick list right there.

Of course, I wouldn't complain if they had some others like:
    -K-os
    -MF Doom
    -Clipse
    -Mr. Lif

JWBIII - I with you man...on the nose (though I'm not a huge Clipse guy). I'm pumped for Brother Ali, Shadow, Ghostface and Pharoahe in particular, but I'll be seeing the whole list...

Nooo doubt...In the end there really is no need to be unhappy with the lineup.

Finally getting to catch a show for the Roots, was what it took for me!!

With a jehri curl wig, glaucoma sunglasses, and Dickies plaids, Eazy E would be easily replaceable by another rapper.

ya most mainstream rappers wouldnt really fit into coachella. I think common and atmosphere are good examples of what kind of hip hop is going to be at coachella, but ya I would like to see Jurassic 5 there.
