ROCK THE BELLS FESTIVAL CANCELLED IN WASHINGTON, DC & NEW YORK CITY
FULL REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AT POINT-OF-PURCHASE
FESTIVAL ORGANIZERS EXPRESS THEIR SENTIMENTS
Festival organizers, Guerilla Union, announced today that the upcoming Rock the Bells Festival tour-stop in Washington, DC and New York City are now cancelled due to a lack of ticket sales. The festival was slated to take place in Washington, DC this weekend (September 28 and 29) and New York City the following weekend (October 4 and 5).
Chang Weisberg, founder and owner of Guerilla Union states: ďFirst and foremost, it is with great sadness and disappointment that we must cancel the Washington, DC and New York City Rock the Bells dates due to lack of ticket sales. I, along with our staff, the artists, and all of the sponsors, media partners, local promoters, and radio stations involved are thankful for our supporters and the fans that planned on attending. Itís extremely unfortunate that we canít complete the last half of the 10th Anniversary Rock the Bells tour. We did everything in our power to save the show. Unfortunately, the financial loss would have been devastating. This festival has been ten years in the making. I am truly sorry we could not produce the show for all the fans who did buy their ticket in support of.Ē
Full refunds will be honored at the location where fans purchased their tickets.
This would have been my third year at rock the bells. My first year was a great experience. Last year, I spent more than $500 to get up front in the less-than-ideal venue used for the New Jersey show. Talking to people around me though, I could not find a single person that paid anything close to that for their seats. I felt ripped off that everyone around me got their tickets from Groupon or drastically discounted upgrades at the door, but going to hip-hop shows is my passion and I was happy to be separated from my money for the product I paid for. However, I didn't receive the product I paid for. The day of the show you CANCELLED MORE THAN FIFTEEN ARTISTS (Big Sean, Tyga, Schoolboy Q, Yelawolf, Pusha T, Chief Keef, Tinie Tempah, Watsky, French Montana, Red Cafe, Mix Master Mike, Murs, Fashawn, Zion I, Grouch, Eligh, & Dom Kennedy.) Your handling of this situation left me feeling disregarded and entirely disrespected. No explanation was offered by the host and the absent artists were never so much as mentioned as we sat in silence for hours the first day. If you can't afford the artists, explain that to me so that I know what's happening. Acting like nothing was wrong sent a clear message that you had my money and my experience was no longer a factor. The only person that I could find available for questions, was an elderly woman passing out adjusted schedules (that were still not accurate) who was blatantly rude to everyone and offered the explanation "A lot of artists in this particular genre like to party all night and don't always get up in the morning." Way to represent the community. I spent more than $1000 travelling from Ohio, paying for tickets, and getting a hotel for this trip. To say the least, I was skeptical about coming back this year, but the line up was too good for me to ignore.
I was more excited for this years line-up than any year before. Despite my reservations, I got VIP both days and convinced ELEVEN of my friends to buy tickets as well. That there alone is more than $2000 I have personally helped to bring to Guerilla Union. We have spent weeks planning rides and booking hotels only to be made a fool, once again, for believing in your company. Your silence policy, both with the cancelled artists last year and cancelled shows this year shows a clear pattern of disrespect to your customer base. Rather than making a clear and official statement, we have to learn through ticketmaster and XXL that we have been ripped off once again. As i write this, you are deleting people complaining off of your Facebook wall and offering no explanation whatsoever.
As a former loyal customer, please just make a statement as soon as possible as to what is going on so that I can begin to try and recover the money I have already put down on hotels.
The lineup was good, the price was not. I used to go for 40-50 dollars, and now it's 100 per day with a similar lineup. They got ahead of themselves.

bandsintown is so annoying.
Maybe I can work it out so I can see one of them perform songs then go to the other venue to catch the other one who will also be performing songs. I wish there was a convenient term for that activity.

It's called "pinballing."

http://www.filmlinc.com/nyff2013/blo...ff-convergenceLive From Los Santos: The Music of Grand Theft Auto V is an exclusive concert event in which the audience will be invited to step inside the world of GTAV with a live musical performance by the artists who contributed to the game's score. The event will feature images of Blaine County, the fictional setting of GTAV, rolling by on massive screens.
"These NYFF Convergence events aim to examine GTAV from multiple angles, giving our audience multiple ways to explore what has already become one of the most compelling works in the genre," said programmer Matt Bolish. "The heart and soul of NYFF Convergence is storytelling and Rockstar Games has proven with GTAV that they are simply the best when it comes to creating narrative, cinematic experiences in games."
Grand Theft Auto V comprises an entire universe filled not only with action, but with sound, thanks to the dynamic score from composers Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, and The Alchemist & Oh No. For one night only, this talented group of artists, along with more than 20 supporting musicians will come together to perform the game's score, live to a very limited audience at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear this incredible collaboration perform the score, combined with art and game visuals to offer a completely unique and immersive live experience.

http://www.trickysite.com/us-tour-delayed-apologies/Tricky will have to cancel some of the dates on his US tour due to further visa problems.
The tour will now start in San Francisco at the Treasure Island Festival and conclude with a re-arranged date in New York on October 26.
Tricky has some juvenile offences for joyriding and forgery of the crown and the US authorities require full disclosure before granting any visas. The new hold-up has been in getting this information from the UK police authorities.
Tricky said “The most upsetting thing about this, whatever happens, it seems like it’s me letting people down. Other people have always dealt with visas for me and it turns out that they’ve not advised me properly. Now I have been advised that this was going to be straightforward and easily done in time for this tour and now this has happened.”
Visas are expected to be granted in time for the shows in San Francisco, New York, Asheville and LA and Tricky will return to the US to tour fully in 2014.
Please contact the relevant venue or ticketing agent for refunds.
Apologies – and Tricky will be back.
Glad I'll still be able to catch him at TI...
