Did you get Goldstar tickets? Normally tickets include OC Fair admission, i wonder if the goldstar tickets are the same. Says Will Call opens at 5, i should be there around that time. Hoping to get in at least a few hours of walking around before catching the show. Chris, you still coming to this?

That is unbelievable to me that Avenged Sevenfold is that huge...I mean, Deftones has had such a giant comeback in the past few years. Those are giant venues though!

Multiple venue/promoter websites have the following quote regarding Neutral Milk Hotel:

    "CROWDSURGE PRESALE THURS AUG 1 @ 10AM"

Where is the crowdusrge preasle? I can not find any further links or info, even though it's in less than 12 hours.

    Yes! Didn't see you.

Great show tonight. A pretty subdued set...lots of slower songs. Definitely the trippiest of the now 4 times I've seen them. I was hanging out with a friend all the way in the back, and I've gotta say the sound was rather impressive for a venue at a fair. It would have been amazing to have gotten You Lust, but I imagine the length of the song made it a no-go.

Also, with the Growlers being from Costa Mesa there were a *ton* of young kids there early to see them. And it was really cool to see them get all excited and lose their minds when a song would start, for a band that's still that small. Really fun night overall.

I was pretty unimpressed with the Growlers when I first saw them a couple years ago. However, they've improved TREMENDOUSLY since then in my opinion. Their set at Psych Fest was a fucking blast.

Yeah, I had heard very mixed things about their live show, but they were really on point tonight. A lot of the songs sound the same, but they do what they do very well.

Yeah, can't really disagree there. Their newest album seemed pretty upbeat though compared their usual, darker style.

Flaming Lips were terrific. Had a great seat thanks to Algunz and I thought sound was very good but a little subdued from our area. Soft Bulletin stuff was still a highlight after all this time but I suppose that will never change. This performance wasn't on a par with the one I saw at Hollywood Forever, but god I am just picking nits. They're a fantastic band. Wayne stayed on top of his perch the entire show. And the lights and visuals were like something the Chemical Brothers might bring along. Turkey legs, sad songs, and Do You Realize? Pretty great. Love em.

Thank you very much for the link. Yup, but moving to St. Louis next month. So I can definitely hit up the St. Louis and Kansas City shows, and maybe the Chicago ones too.

Out of curiosity how did you get the link. I thought I was signed up for a NMH mailing list but I didn't get anything.

My friend sent me an email this morning This might have been the easiest presale ever! I can guarantee those Webster Hall shows will sell out tomorrow right away. Glad I got those and BAM tickets! Good luck with your presale!

BAM is a great venue but general admission seating at BAM for "sold out shows" will be a nightmare clusterfuck! NMH fanatics will be lined up to get in for BAM hours beforehand. If you want a good spot, you're going to have to suck it up and wait! They should have just made it "reserved seating" like for other venues...

that is much better than the Echo's normal bait-and-switch move to the Echoplex. good on them for not screwing people over.

on a somewhat related note, if anyone was dieing to see Walk the Moon but couldn't get tickets to their Wiltern show 10/18, tickets are now available for the "upgraded" venue, Palladium.

Izzy is still tripping on some of those visuals. She did love the rainbows and confetti.

Yes. LOTS of local kids. I saw way too many past students.
