Fuck the Constellation Room/Observatory. Paid parking should be for people who are willing to pay for the convenience, but there should always be free parking options for those who don't mind walking a bit. There are only business parks for as long as the eye can see in all directions down by those venues. Fuck Orange County in general, but double fuck that place.
I've been to the Observatory twice (the last time being less than a year ago) and parked for free. Is this a new thing?
There's a free lot if you get there early enough. But it's small, and I'm not going to sit on the 405 during rush hour to save a few bucks.

And it is great for those of us that have to "suffer" such a "horrific" life behind the orange curtain to have a venue that books national acts so close. I can just as easily say fuck l.a. Venues based on the drive/traffic for me, horrendous parking at most venues, etc.
The Satellite's parking costs $6, at least last few times I was there. My go-to spot for parking there was changed to permit only. They did that with the Troub too, and it's made me reticent to go to the Troubadour again now that the area is so strict about limiting the ample available parking nearby.
Fuck Beverly Hills.
Yeah, the permit only sections for the Satellite have stretched so far that the last time I was there it seemed like the closest non-permit spot was at least a mile away. I usually just do the valet onsite. I haven't had trouble still parking on melrose for the Troubadour though.
Having a handicap placard is nice for places like that. Don't think I'd even go to shows there if I didn't have one.
Last time I was At troub. I got a fix it ticket for no front license plate. Would expect maybe a little compassion with a placard hanging from the rear view mirror, but not these days, all about the almighty dollar.

BTW Rodrigo y Gabriela played new material last night at the Hollywood Bowl and it sounded great.
Rodrigo also played the encore topless. Gabriela's the "more restrained one."

I've parked right around the corner on Melrose for 13 years with no problem, including just a month or two ago.
I overheard a group of people out on the smoking patio last weekend at Black Flag saying they paid $9 for a PBR tall can, is that the normal amount paid for that at other venues? I feel like i've paid $7 before. Maybe the venue needs more money cause they don't have many sold out shows lately
The Wolfmother show tonight was a blast. Mind's Eye was so good!
Phoenix w/ Grouplove @ Club Nokia, 8/11
Saw The Neighbourhood at the Fonda last night. Insane how less crowded it was on the floor and how much more strict they were in letting people down there post the Petty fiasco a few weeks ago. Fire Marshall hanging out front too. They must be on thin ice again...
