There are jazz shows being put on at the Hollywood and Highland center for free every Tuesday until August 6th from 7-9 pm in the Central Courtyard. If you get your parking validated (i.e. buy something cheap from starbucks) the first two hours are $2 and then each 15 mins after is the normal rate of $1.

I wish this was an option for me, which it would be if the shows started just a half hour later.

But yeah, there is a metro station right there, and these shows do end at 9, long before the metro stops running.

If you have any inkling of liking Dwight Yoakam, I would highly recommend going to that. I've seen him twice now and he was fantastic both times.

That venue has fucked over so many people, and who designed that shit hole, a blind person? Totally ruined my last presets show there by arriving too late for the pit. Dumbest thing ever.

I've only been to Club Nokia a few times, but I never really had a problem being outside of the pit. Butthole Surfers/Melvins I was under the overhang and it was just fine. Same with The Cranberries and Primal Scream.

Stetson was great last night. The highlight for me was definitely the reworking of Judges; live now, that track has so much more going on than it did a year ago, including a lot of variation in dynamics and tempo that really made it interesting.

Parents love them and they bought the tickets. But I enjoy them, so sit and spin.

My first time where? Central Park? No, I first visited Central Park about four years ago. And two years ago I moved to Manhattan and now the park is a fifteen minute walk away and I've been quite a bit.

Aww, c'mon. Sit and spin is too funny to be insulting.

My backup was, "Coming from the guy who was talking about going to see Huey Lewis."

Not nearly. I'm a meager 5'6", but at Buttholes I was able to get to the front of that area and see fine, and for both Cranberries and Primal Scream we just stood at the back of the crowd and didn't have an issue. Maybe I've just gotten lucky every time I've been there.

    I love me some Huey.

The singer from The Cranberries is one of the most cuntish people it had been my displeasure to tour with.
