Yeah, when D' and ? did that before it was mostly D' on piano, ? on drums, a decent amount of covers and apparently a really loose set list. Sounds like it was fun, but I wouldn't expect the same explosive sort of energy and musicality that you'd get out of a regular D'Angelo set.

Not because Pacifica isn't a great album, just because they kind of hit that perfect timing with Apocalypso. (A buddy of mine interviewed them for Billboard recently and they talked about this... it's a really good read and worth checking out: http://www.billboard.com/articles/co...of-success-and )
I really liked their set at Club Nokia. I wonder if there will be walk-up tickets at the Avalon Tuesday night. Don't really want to pay $40 online.

Yah typical hipsters overestimating a bands mass appeal. They have nowhere near the mass appeal of the National or the epicness of Sigur Ros to think this would be an instant sellout. The price isnt exactly cheap either. I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of the first shows there not to sellout in a long time. Actually has any not soldout the lawn?

Show's not sold out yet. There were still tickets available at the door at Club Nokia in December (which is larger, but only by 300 people)... I would wager that as long as you show up early you'll be fine.

And showing up early should be worthwhile. Really curious to see what Classixx bring to the table with their new live show!

Yeah might not be able to get there early, but we'll see. I'll play it by ear. If I don't make it small loss as I saw them at Club Nokia.

You doin that Bowie knock off cover band at OC Fair performing Alladin Sane anniversary in it's entirety? The record is supposed to be a classic, but I only like three or four songs off it (Drive in, Name said, Lady Grinnin, Time). Saw the Diamond Dogs one and it was really good.

go by the Palladium box office tomorrow between 10 am - 2 pm. You should be able to get tickets with no service fees. Cash/credit accepted. Sometimes its a long line, sometimes its a ghost town - get there by 1:30 you should be fine.

I'd be really surprised if anyone's seen him with the current band as they've only played a few shows together, but I saw him with his last rock act in 2006 and it was really good. He's still got great control over his voice and is still interested in playing around with his music. That said, I bet this tour will be better based on the few videos out there. Oh, and the lineup of the new band:

The lineup features Plant alongside guitarist Justin Adams (Tinariwen, Sinead O’Connor), keyboardist John Baggott (Massive Attack, Portishead), bassist Billy Fuller (Beak>, Massive Attack), guitarist Liam “Skin” Tyson (Cast, Men from Mars), violinist Juldeh Camara, and drummer Dave Smith.
Edit: Okay, so apparently that's mostly the band I saw. It was really good, psychedelic in lots of ways and he adds some great world music and psych elements to some of the old Zeppelin songs. And then they play Whole Lotta Love straight.

Alright, so maybe I should just see Robert Plant the next time he comes around. The closest thing to actual Zeppelin I suppose.

So I guess the Stones aren't releasing more tickets for Honda Center today? Oh well.

He just wanted to make sure everyone knew that he was a douchebag and kept his camera up through most of the show since he got lucky enough to get pit tickets.

Who wants to watch a live show through a camera lens for half the time. I don't get that shit.
Superfan will be in front of the Fonda masturbating furiously to a photo of him taking a photo of a band. Set is from 8:05 to approximately 8:05:15. Guest list only.

Upcoming Shows: Marques Wyatt - UCLA, Paul Mccartney - Dodger Stadium, Yes - Greek Theater, Herbie Hancock - Hollywood Bowl, NIN/Soundgarden - Hollywood Bowl, Cut Chemist/Dj Shadow - Palladium, Massive Attack SB Bowl

Show was great. Not the best show I've seen all year (that probably goes to Prince) and we ended up with nosebleeds but I kind of like being able to see everything at once.

Charlie Watts is like an Animatronic and Keith Richards is fairly sedate. Mick Jagger's got lots of energy but I found Ronnie Wood the most fun to watch. Dude was clearly having a blast.

This will probably be very un popular but I went to Dada life last night, I heard some girls in Rolling Stone T shirts say they wanted to see the Rolling Stones because of the Dada Life song, that's a very bizarre connection but I guess.

I enjoyed Ariel Pink and I also enjoyed that other band Holy Sh*t, but who was that first band that was just basically 2 girls sitting on the floor moaning while playing various instruments, it was truly bizarre.
