Yes, the valley is "out there." People who live there like to act like it's the center of everything, but it's not.

I have NEVER heard anyone act like the valley is the "center of everything." Mostly we just try to convince West-siders that it's not the worthless, barren wasteland that they seem to think it is.

Good catch. I originally saw this show listed on SongKick as being on the 9th, but I would definitely believe/follow the booking agent's website. I'm happy too because it means I can still see The Men at the Troubadour on the 9th!

I wonder who might play this...

The Sub Pop Records Silver Jubilee: Saturday, July 13, 2013

In honor of our 25th anniversary year, we at Sub Pop Records will be hosting an altogether free event, which we’re calling The Silver Jubilee, to be held July 13, 2013 in Seattle’s historic Georgetown neighborhood. Along and surrounding Airport Way, we are fairly certain there will be some combination of… Actual live bands, playing actual live music! Some sort of art-related something or other! Like, in a gallery space, we’re thinking! A record fair-type event! Food! Beer and wine! (The food and beer and wine and soda or whatever, you will have to pay for! These parts are not free!) Good times and opportunities to embarrass yourself and those who’d always hoped for better for you! Plus, bands!
Further details will be forthcoming… until then, PLEASE SAVE THE DATE!

Thanks Nemo. Rakim/Raekwon show is postponed for the second time! But Passion Pit @ MSG does not get cancelled

ps Bieber fans camping out tonight for a chance to score SNL tixs in this weather. Look at 5:09pm post: http://projects.nytimes.com/live-das...#sha=5213c4467

    Nice article from Spin...

Cohen had crunched the numbers and felt confident. "Our last New York headline play, we did Governors Island (7,500 tickets) and the day before we did Prospect Park (6,500). You put those together and that's 14,000 tickets." That was back in July of 2010. After that, Passion Pit "strategically stayed out of the market. We knew the demand was there, but we needed it to bubble over so we could come back in a big way."

By September of last year, they'd received offers from MSG, Barclays Center, and for a multiple-night run at Radio City Music Hall. Cohen was at a Dr. Dog show with Jim Glancy, a partner at New York City promoters Bowery Presents, who have booked MSG in the past, when news came in that Passion Pit had scored Saturday Night Live. "I whispered to him, ‘We got SNL,'" says Cohen, "and he said, ‘Let's do the Garden.' It went from, 'Should we do this?' to ‘Let's lock it in,' right then and there."

But the hoodoo is just "homework," claims Laura Connelly, Director of Presentations for the Hollywood Bowl, which has an 18,000 cap and last season headlined Animal Collective, plus split a bill between Hot Chip and Passion Pit. "You have to know the product that you're buying and how it's going to sell," she explains. "We're up to speed on the band's trajectory, their album cycle, etc."

"It's got to be the right time," says Frank, whose Spaceland is synonymous with L.A.'s East Side music scene. "You have to book in advance of when they're actually hitting, so it is a gamble aiming for the apex of all of these factors. You're looking for traction in the market, but also at the press picture, the radio picture, TV, and you have to make sure the band has what it takes to entertain on that scale."

Sweet. I was wondering if they were gonna change their set since they have quite a few tour dates lined up this year.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

What are the odds of cameras being let in to the Justin Timberlake show tonight? I can't imagine them turning me away since it doesn't say anywhere on the event info or LiveNation/Palladium venue website about no cameras.

And who else woke up with a smile on their face excited as hell for this concert!?

The man is redic every single time. No set is exactly the same as another. So much improv going on the fly. The band members just follow and feed off what he's doing. Incredible performer.

Speaking of incredible performers. Anyone have set times for JT? I know doors are 9. So I'm guessing 10 showtime w/ no openers.

The Robert Glasper Experiment at the Roxy on Thursday was amazing! Seriously so many talented performers, not least Robert Glasper himself but also a ton of guests (almost everyone who's featured on Black Radio, and also Chris Dave on drums for a couple songs). Plus I got to see a keytar, hell yeah. But seriously he played for 2.5 hours straight. Also Bobby McFerrin's son opened the show - he's on brainfeeder and does some really awesome freestyle beatboxing live.
