Photek @ King King 2/15
Robert Glasper Experiment @ the Roxy 2/8
Iggy & the Stooges headlining Ink-n-Iron this year (thx SMA). Between this and Bad Religion at Musink I might be hitting both tattoo fests this year.

TNGHT on tour in SF on 4/20, leaving them available for Day 1 & 3 for both weekends.
Tycho is great. I coulda done without the Santa Ana BS venue in a business park and the fukin crabcore bands in the main room. Rants aside, his visuals were as good as I've seen in a while and there were a fair amount of new songs. A slight hiccup when a comp hit the floor but no matter. Loved it all.
Someone seriously asking about whether or not they should see Killing Joke here? Damn. The first Killing Joke record is a classic. Who cares how they are live now? Get out there and pay up.
Tycho| Coachella 2013| Austin Psych Fest| Psycho de Mayo| Tame Impala| Black Rebel Motorcycle Club| Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers| David Byrne & St Vincent| Capitol Hill Block Party| Godspeed You! Black Emperor| Godspeed You! Black Emperor| Devotchka| The National| FYF Fest
For anyone going, this information was added:
On another note, I highly doubt they'll be touring anytime soon but it's exciting to hear that John Dyer Baizley & Pete Adams (of Baroness) will be opening for Neurosis on Sunday. This is their first musical outing since the band's horrific bus accident last summer. Can't wait for this rare acoustic? set!Corrections House (ft. Scott Kelly of Neurosis, Mike IX Williams of Eyehategod, Sanford Parker of Nachtmystium, and Bruce Lamont of Yakuza) Each of the members will do solo sets back-to-back-to-back before they all do a full set of music together.

I'd do it if it didn't go so late. Thanks for the invite.
Andrew Bird was amazing last night and definitely reminded me why he is my favorite artist. Several of you are going tonight or tomorrow, so I wont say more.

Does anyone know if you can buy non service charge tickets for Wiltern and Palladium shows on nights that they are open? I know Palladium sells tickets on Saturdays from 10-2 but it would be great if I could pick up Bad Religion with no charge tomorrow night before Pennywise. Does anyone know?
Pretty sure it's Saturday only. The entrance box office to the palladium is a total shit show when 5000 people are trying to get in, so they are definitely focused only on that night's show.

Excited about the tour dates, but this made me lol.
For the past four years the band have been conducting parapsychological experiments based upon the classic Ganzfeld ("total field") experiment, but with a twist: instead of sending and receiving simple graphic patterns, test subjects were put into a state of sensory deprivation by covering their eyes and listening to white noise on headphones, and then Matmos member Drew Daniel attempted to transmit "the concept of the new Matmos record" directly into their minds. The resulting transcripts of the videotaped psychic experiments became poetic and conceptual scores used by Matmos to generate the nine songs on this album.
RAPE STOVE
white power?!
The marquee used to say box office open Saturdays 10-2 and 2 hrs before show time (maybe it still does but i don't think so). So I went there trying to get tickets to an upcoming show on the night of Adele in 2011 (I did know it was probably going to be very busy on this night but I'm from orange county and had to be in the area for other reasons so I figured I would try). So I went up to the box office, and they said they couldn't do it, and I brought up the marquee info and I had to talk to a couple different people when finally they said come back in 45 min and we can sell you a ticket probably hoping I would just fuck off. I did come back though, and they went in to open the other side of the box office to sell me tickets for this other show I wanted but they then told me at point of sale I would have to pay full ticket price (same as the website) because it wasn't Saturday. so that was that. The box office has been kind of unreliable sometimes though, with different people trying to charge different prices for tickets, and me telling them no that can't be right, so they make a quick phone call and correct the price kind of thing. So maybe try again or call and ask or something. Cool story.
