METZ were absolutely devastating tonight. They sound a bit different live compared to their recording, but the same intensity and vitality is there. Fantastic show.
I also talked to the drummer afterwards and he is a really cool guy. For anyone wondering, they haven't been contacted by Coachella to play, but they are already signed on to play Primavera and Lollapalooza. So there is that. First Lolla confirmation right there, I guess. Anyways, go see METZ.
Also keep in mind that the people who spend time on this message board or even people that lurk on here are what, %.05-%15 of the actual audience at a show on a given night? Yeah some nights i'm sure it could be higher, or maybe up to %15 is way off idk. But yeah very few people at the shows we attend have ever heard of a concert etiquette thread, or let alone such a thing as concert etiquette existing. Most people on here are music nerds and this is a major part of our life. The accepted strategy by most people is get there whenever and push to the very front as much as possible (because since they paid for admission they are absolutely granted this right and need instagram photos to look best), and partake in as much drinking as possible which goes back to everyone being horrible.
edit: not trying to excuse these flunkys just sayin
there was no horribleness last night at the Echo. All good vibes and awesome beats by Pantha Du Prince. Thanks to Jason for picking up my extra ticket!
glad you guys got to see PdP. Did he play any new stuff?
Rhythm is a dancer.
sometimes i wonder though if everybody that complains about other people has their own quirks they don't realize that other people go home and complain about
In for Local Natives at the Fonda. It took about 15 minutes to sell out this time, but it is indeed sold out.
Kid Koala show last night was hands down the most random fun show I've seen in forever. Moulin Rouge style dancing, Puppet Show, Dan Automater, Cut Chemist, Money Mark, David Choe , Rian Johnson (Director of Looper and Brick) on Banjo were the guests. Highly recommend. TONS of production for a $20 show.
We did the Hall Pass upgrade to check out Pantha Du Prince but the guy was 30 min late and the set took 10 min to get going which kinda put a wrench in the interior double dip (which is a good idea). Once it got going there was some pretty dark and dirty beats. Crowd was def into it. Alot of white people dancing funny.

Oh oh it looks like Rocket from the Crypt is back Next, Drive like Jehu!
I saw a community theater production in an intimate venue earlier this year. It was pretty great if you like glam rock. Very monologue-ish between songs, there's essentially no "plot". Just a backstory.
My buddies are in droog and insure me the 2 special guests on night 2 are not to be missed. I'm expecting 2 artists from the Sonar lineup. Hopefully Azari and III and prob Nic. Cya on the dancefloor Tmac!
yessir tyson, see you there.
that is a cringeworthy line spiggums, but i'll still give this place a chance.
