I think I'm gonna catch the Arizona date. They were pretty bad at Outside Lands but I was all the way in the back definitely not into it. Seeing a full set up close will hopefully change things!

Most of my New Yorker friends don't really like Terminal 5. It was fine when I saw LCD Soundsystem there in 2011 though.

I like it but I understand the gripes with it as well. Hot and sweaty, long lines for the bar, lots of bad sight lines, generally rowdy crowd. But I dunno, it gets hot and sweaty in a good way, like that video shows.

I've also been there rolling my balls off at a Hard event so there's that. Woooooo

Yeeeah. The crowd at MSG was substantially better. At the same time, I enjoyed the rowdiness of the T5 show. Lot of crowdsurfing.

So Menomena was incredible last night. this was my third time seeing them and it was easily the best, even with the lost member. They've put together a great touring band full of excellent multi-instrumentalists and singers, and the result was 5 guys on stage with incredible energy, playing every kind of instrument possible and all singing together nonstop. They played a huge set, and everything sounded fantastic. These guys are at the absolute top of their game right now. It's a real shame that they're not drawing more though, the El Rey was easily at half-capacity or less.

I would heartily disagree with this argument. Godspeed, Mogwai, Silver Mt. Zion, Slint, Tortoise and The Sea and Cake all impressed me more than Mono.

I still haven't seen Mogwai, The Sea and Cake, or Slint. Mono stood out from the other acts you mentioned. At least for me. I'm still pissed Mogwai had to cancel their Sasquatch set.

EDIT* If we're counting Sigur Ros then they'd be my #1 without a doubt.

Yeah, and Sigur Ros. Forgot them.

What was the setting in which you saw Godspeed? That makes a big difference for them.
