They're still finding their groove, and it does feel a bit different. But fear not, both new band members are spectacular at their instruments and the live show is still very worthwhile. Dwyer can do no wrong.

I saw The Both on their first tour. I really dig Aimee Mann and her and Ted Leo have good chemistry together, both musically and with their stage banter. Last time around, they did each other's material in addition to The Both. I guess that won't be the case this time around. Too bad, I'd like to hear another stripped down version of Little Bombs again.

No way, itll be a mess. Dont they do fireworks there anyway? Itll get crowded late because people who have no clue there was a concert will just go for the fireworks.

Well, this is only the second year they will be doing fire works, since Grand Park is still pretty new. Last year it was also an all day event with music and food trucks and stuff. I believe about 10,000 people showed up. They are advertising it very clearly - they have 2 stages and even have all the set times already posted. Phantogram are playing early. 2 stages. I may ride my bike or walk over and check it out. No booze may keep people away.

Makes sense - her music is offensive to the casual listener so I'd assume most people who went were genuinely interested.

Does she still create loops at the beginning of every song or did she have a bigger band this time? I skipped the SD show because the loops thing gets old for me.

Two backing vocalists, a drummer, a guitarist, and Merrill. She used loops a couple times but the majority of songs seemed to be loopless.

If you want to go to this I suggest you be right on it. The SF shows both sold out pretty much immediately, and while they are definitely more of a draw in the Bay Area, people are traveling all over for these shows.

In for King Crimson, night 1. Got Row H Orch center on the aisle. A little dismayed to bring up row D a few minutes after purchase for the second show on Wed. That doesn't normally happen... uhhh bringing up a closer row minutes later, not me checking for better tickets repeatedly like a noodge- that happens all the time. Anyway, may still end up at both shows. Can't wait!
