Anyone else going to Factory Floor at the Echo tonight? Hopefully tonight is better than Sunday, as those sound issues during the first song really soured the rest of the set.

Closest camping is to the north at Pfeiffer Big Sur SP, but sites are reserved MANY months in advance. North of that is Andrew Molera SP (walk-in sites, first-come first serve, sites are walking distance to the ocean). All lodging options in the area are quite expensive, including the state park lodge at Pfeiffer Big Sur. (Not a big deal, if you have deep pockets.) I would try to avoid staying more than 10 miles away from the library; the 1 is scary to drive at night and driving times/distances are longer than they seem.

There are a few private campgrounds in the area, but they get reserved quickly, too. If you want to try for an unreserved site at Andrew Molera, getting there on Mon is probably your best bet.

(My dream is to spend a couple of nights at Post Ranch Inn... so far it remains a dream.)

hopefully none of you were getting hyped up to see Chic at the hollywood bowl next month

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Saturday, May 10, 2014 Hollywood Bowl date featuring Nile Rodgers and Chic, Giorgio Moroder, and special guests, will not take place.

Nile and Chic will be back in LA soon, and those who bought tickets to the Hollywood Bowl show will be offered a special presage for his next LA show.

Refunds available at point of purchase
with how much Hard had been pushing this event, my bet is that ticket sales were terrible.

Damnit, was going for my birthday and got literally front row center tickets. Sales must've been really bad.

Now that'll be a hard show (either one) to get tickets for.

In other news, I have 2 tix to the Antlers at the Troubadour on July 12th. Turns out i'll be out of town then, but I already bought my tix. $25 per ticket face value, hit me up if you want them! On the bright side I still get to see them, just in NY not LA.

Tonight ended my three night coachella warmup:it started off with title fight and waxahatchee in my home town. Waxa definitely played to title fights crowd and went for it with some of their heavier stuff. Title fight are a great group of guys who are very sincere and just bring it always. Next up chvrchds with austra who were the perfect opener for chvrcjes. Damn I did not know they would be such a force live. Compared to old videos I have seen, they have really together as a live act. The production and lighting was outstanding and they were very excited to be on the road in between coachella weekends. Played every song they had and even did one song twice because they thought it didn't come out right. Then tonight I saw Bombay bicycle club who were very tight with the title song from the new album and always like this from their first the highlights. It was a little disheartening when the el Rey crowd started talking during the slow songs but they shut everyone up when they rocked. I thought they commanded the crowd very well.

All in all great week and I'm very excited to return to the desert tomorrow.

I would rather have Jenny Hval over Xiu Xiu. Luckily for me though Swans is completely skipping MN again.

I am stoked about Swans but the Roxy seems like a weird place to see them. It's pretty small from what I remember. I think my ears will explode.

Anyone been to the Roxy recently? Like within the last month? I've never been to a show there and always heard bad things. Has the venue quality improved along with the bookings?
