The itinerary they list shows that the concert will last two hours. Maybe they're overbooking it or maybe they'll need the extra time to shoot it, but two hours would be a lot of time to spend playing from just one album.

St. Vincent was incredible. Loved the staging, choreography and the band was tight. The new songs worked extremely well especially Prince Johnny and Huey Newton. Wiltern crowd wasn't horrible, so that was nice.

ETA: Re: Coldplay, yesterday they played a few hits and the entire new album. It's for a DVD and maybe a television special. I'm going to a video shoot this afternoon, not sure for which song and hope to see the show tonight.

Seconded on St Vincent. Mind is fucking blown. The waits for primavera and sled island are going to be much slower now. I wish I had the energy to do Oakland.

St. Vincent was impressive last night - her singing gets tighter/more impressive every time I see her. The keyboards seemed a bit low in the mix to me - anyone else? Your Lips Are Red was a fantastic way to close. Knew she was not doing any crowdsurfing for Krokodil when wearing that dress, haha.

Lot 613 was...meh. Very average set at a very blah venue - did like that at least 40% of the people were outside/smoking during the show. Gotta stop seeing Boys Noize when he's not doing a festival or live set.

I totally disagree. I liked the set a lot, I enjoyed the really minimal production, and really liked the space. It was extremely hot in there so people were going in and out. i also enjoyed that i found out they were barbecuing outside and I bought a good hot dog and chips for $5 at 2am. Also enjoyed that you could get beers for $4. I though L-Vis set was fucking amazing too! I was ssurprised it wasn't more crowded but I was really happy to have the room to dance.

I think the main reason I wasn't feeling it as much was because of the sound system...just used to a louder/more direct system. I didn't see them barbecuing - dammit. That would have been clutch. Bar was ace/not crowded at all, and couldn't have been easier to get in/out - so def a lot positives. L-Vis was pretty good from what I saw, didn't realize I was sitting by him on the plane in from NYC. Guess I was hoping for something else...his set at the Fonda back in 2011 is what keeps me coming back, but haven't quite had anything like the last few times he's come through.

I DO think it was overpriced though. What happened last night should not have cost $40 after fees. I lucked out and bought one for $20 from a friend, but I wouldn't have felt like I got my money's worth if I had paid full price, for sure.

"Your Lips Are Red" ripped my mind a new one. Never heard that song performed like that before. All the reinventions were stellar, really. Going to be very hard to top as show of the year.

I caught Yes on their tour last year. One of my all-time favorite bands, but I had only seen them perform live once before, way back in ’75 (Denver Coliseum).

Their performance last year was fantastic, epic even. They played 3 complete albums – “Close to the Edge”, “Going for the One”, and ‘71’s “The Yes Album”. Encore was “Roundabout”. Steve Howe and Chris Squire absolutely killed it, like they were in their 30s instead of their upper 60s. Nearly 3 hours of music with just one 15-minute intermission.

And their current lead singer (younger guy named Jon Davison) actually did a great job on the vocals in place of Jon Anderson, who sadly can not sing anymore like he used to. Certainly not for 3 hours in concert, night after night.

For this year’s tour they are changing out “The Yes Album” and “Going for the One” with “Fragile”, and doing some greatest hits encore thing. If you like Yes you’ll be very happy if you catch them on this summer 2014 tour, even without Jon Anderson. I’m going again, for sure (Mesa Arts in August)

And Dixon is one of the DJs I’m interested in checking out at Coachella. Yuma tent?

I completely agree with all of this. I have seen Yes with the original lineup, and I caught them on their tour last year. Their performance at the Orpheum was Epic indeed. The young guy they have is pretty much identical in Jon Anderson's vocals. Which is crazy because Anderson has such unique vocals. And I really wanted to see Fragile in its entirety. So I am SUPER stoked on this
Superfan will be in front of the Fonda masturbating furiously to a photo of him taking a photo of a band. Set is from 8:05 to approximately 8:05:15. Guest list only.

You clearly have not seen Disclosure live. They use a bunch of live instruments in their set.

Thundercat and Hannibal Buress at Largo tonight were both tremendous. Thundercat played with a piano accompaniment, and of the 5+ times that I've seen him perform, this may have been my favorite. Hannibal did about 80 minutes of the funniest stand-up I've seen in a long, long time. There's one more show tomorrow that I don't believe has sold out yet and I can't recommend it enough.
