Man the St. Vincent Q&A/mini performance at the Grammy museum was incredible. blew me away to see her perform those new songs with a live band while I was sitting like 4 feet away. she's always great, but it was extra special to see it in that setting. at least for me.

it was short. only 7 or 8 songs. not complaining at all, though. so much fun.

Just landed a ticket from 1iota for one of the Coldplay secret shows. Anyone else get in, or are all of you just going make fun of me for liking Coldplay?

So I forgot how terribly planned certain DIY shows can be. perfect Pussy is baaaarely going on and Meredith is nowhere to be found cause she's hopped up on drugs because she got her wisdom teeth pulled. Greg, the bassist, who is a really really cool guy and the elder of the group at 30, said they'll just do the demo and get the hell out of here. It's interesting to know that he didn't even know who the fuck Pitchfork was or that the review existed until someone he worked with mentioned it. A good representation of how you can't blame the groups for the publicity they have. Also, the kids aren't angry enough anymore. That's probably obvious.

There's no fucking way an active band based out of New York has not heard of Pitchfork. That was probably a joke.

I'll try to give him the benefit of the doubt since they're from Syracuse and I've been drinking. Also very loud and the dude doing the noise on the side is killer. They're surprisingly and pleasantly tight. Seemed like a 10 min set.

St. Vincent was incredible tonight at the Grammy Museum. That last solo on Rattlesnake just left the whole room speechless. Great way to open up the performance.

Reports are that all of their sets at SXSW were 8-10 minutes long. It's their thing.

The New York show had the FB presale moved to today, and even though I didn't think it was possible, it was more of a clusterfuck than the NIN/Soundgarden presale on MusicToday. We did get tickets in the same zip code as the stage though.

Oh, and I guess you posted that yesterday. It showed as posted today for me since I'm on the East Coast.

Weekend put on a very solid show last night, highly recommend catching them at the Echo tonight. I also enjoyed opener Surf Club, but was not into Cities Aviv.

Ha. They cancelled their SF show tonight because of a medical emergency.

Oh yeah, I expected it to be short as hell. Just sucked we had to wait so long and the band was pretty over how unorganized it was too. Oh well. And to clarify the pitchfork comment, he might have been referencing the positive review rather than the entire publication. Apparently they would find out from friends that other publications were covering them so they had to scramble for a publicist and manage just within the last several months. Cool insight on buzz bands that I didn't know much about. A very fun band to watch. That guitar sound just tears through everything.

Atlas Sound played a show at Tulane University in New Orleans this past tuesday opening for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros (strange matchup). Bradford mentioned how it was his first Atlas Sound show in a pretty long time and about half of the set seemed like new songs to me. Hopefully this means another Atlas Sound record is on the horizon.

Where is it at anyway. And I wouldve gone for it being free and all. Might as well see them before its a stadium tour and whatnot, or Coachella.

It's on a soundstage at Sony. There's 3 shows and a video shoot. Word is they will be performing the new album in its entirety and that the performance is being filmed for something.

Right, the third one was at the soundstage sunday which you could buy tickets to. well, the chances seemed
To not be that high for tickets if it was at Sony.

I'm going to be doing a bit of a crawl before, so I was looking for exact times. This is just a few blocks from my house, so I'm stoked.

Indeed. Legend has is it that Andre played a UCLA frat party shortly before I went there (~2002ish) and was paid in cocaine. To top it off, Da Mafia 6ix can't even book a gig anywhere near LA or SF. Their only CA show is in Lancaster. Ugh.
