Just out of curiosity, how packed was the crowd for his show at the El Rey? Tickets sold so poorly for the SF show that they moved it from a 1400 capacity to a 500, cut door ticket prices in half, and told ticket holders they can bring a friend for free. All fine by me, though, the new venue's soundsystem is way better.

Basement at the Chain Reaction in Anaheim on 8/12 has been moved to the Glass House and there are more tickets available.

That likely means the sold out Echo show on 8/13 could move to Echoplex. Pretty crazy sellout this far in advance.

El Rey was maybe 60% full? Maybe 400 people? Every music blog and radio station was giving away tixs to it. I was underwhelmed of the production myself.

I also found the production underwhelming, though it probably didn't help that it was crammed into a small club when clearly it was meant for a larger stage.

I don't know if anyone knew who they were when the show was announced, or if they were even on the initial lineup, but I just noticed that CHEATAH is playing that Red Bull Sound Select Show that Fidlar is headlining tonight at the Echoplex.

Factory Floor is now the opener for Mogwai at the El Rey on 4/17 and the Echo show has been moved to 4/15.

Doesn't help me since I'm watching Bonobo at the Glass House on the 15th, but congrats to everyone going to Mogwai, you now have a reason to get to the venue much earlier.

considering factory floor at the echo since they'll probably be going on pretty early at 'chella.

That's the best match I've seen for Mogwai since Fuck Buttons opened for them. I may try to make that...

Did anyone else go see Negativland at the Cinefamily tonight? What an absolutely fantastic mind-fuck of a performance. Equal parts trippy and hilarious. Fun times. Daedelus was a great opener, too. Hadn't seen him in a while.

Yes, and that's also absurd. People are absurd idiots who will pay $250 for this show on the secondary market.

It was like $45-50 to see them at the Fonda a couple years ago, without the terrible new material and with Kim Deal. Did they suddenly have a surge in popuarity? What justifies these prices?
