uh. not sure what show you were at. first night they started around 9.20. second night I don't have the exact time, but it didn't feel like it started much later. I was in the venue before 8.30 and sure as hell didn't sit there for 90 minutes before they started.

I really don't understand why people pay for a show if all they are going to do is go to the bar. And, of course the drunken "Woo-hoo" at inappropriate times.

Both nights were very good. But night 1 had more extended songs and went longer. They started a little late, maybe 9:10 I think? But night 2 they didn't start till around 10 and still ended at about the same time.

One of the most excellent light shows I have seen, by the way.

You must have been seated right next to me the second night because I had a very similar experience. There was an older lady with a leopard print hat on two rows in front of me... Her and her posse must have got up and left 10 times throughout the show, and each time it was a huge scene. Them talking loudly, them returning loudly with beers in hand and spilling them.

There was a guy in front of me who I kid you not fell asleep during the performance!! What the fuck.

But I also agree with the lighting statement... There were some truly beautiful moments.

Friday. Probably announced tomorrow officially. It's a lease, so they are easily gonna have high pricing.

I was front row and center for the 2nd night of Spiritualized. Amazing show! Venue is beautiful - hoping for a lot more shows here since I live down the street.

Didn't pay much attention to the people behind me, but the couple to my right were constantly getting up to go grab drinks, chatting it up, taking selfies, etc.

I was too busy melting in my seat to give a fuck, but I find it odd that people with such great seats would be so uninterested in the performance.

Man, I had such a blast at Spiritualized. I was pretty far back in the balcony, but god damn. I had a great view, the people next to me were cool (dude ended up buying me a beer because his gf or whatever kept coming and going) and holy shit that theater is beautiful. Oh Happy Days was a great ending and the fact I was even able to score a ticket was nothing short of a miracle. Best one day weekend I have had in a long time. Oh yeah, great meeting you again, FEELS.

Neutral Milk Hotel was seriously great tonight. The show just had such a positive and happy vibe to it. The crowd was real respectful too. The whole experience really just exceeded all of my expectations. Highlight for me was Naomi. The whole band was jumping around and looked to be having a blast. Can't wait to see them again tomorrow!

Yeah it was an awesome show. I walked in 10 min before they went on and stood 10 feet from Jeff on stage left. Totally agree about the positive and happy vibe. I didn't realize how good the band is.

Phenomenal show. It was nice hearing Jeff chat a bit about why he doesn't like people taking pictures and video during their shows. Loved how genuinely happy they all seemed to be.

One of the great things about the Moody. They seem to undersell the floor so there's always plenty of space. Not a bad seat in the house either.

Unsound has revealed details of its 2014 festival in New York.

After taking a year off in 2013 to focus on events in London, Krakow and Adelaide, the festival will return to New York this year. It will begin on Wednesday, April 2nd, and run through until Sunday, April 6th, taking over venues like Lincoln Center, famed loft space Experimental Intermedia, ISSUE Project Room and Brooklyn’s First Unitarian Church. The lineup features a few Unsound favourites like Demdike Stare, Andy Votel and Vladislav Delay, as well as dub techno merchants DeepChord and Porter Ricks and former Hype Williams member Inga Copeland.

As always there is some Polish representation on the bill, with Piotr Kurek, Hubert Zemler, Pietnastka, Robert Piotrowicz, Kapital and string players from Sinfonietta Cracovia all featuring. The US contingent includes Huerco S, Ital & Halal, Phill Niblock, Ben Vida and Leisure Muffin, who recently put out a record for The Bunker New York, the party-turned-label that's been lined up to co-present a night of Unsound action on Saturday, April 5th.

    Best news ever!!!

Last year, the Red Bull Music Academy set up shop in New York City.

As with every Academy, we put on events throughout the city that both showcased the enormous talent of the participants as well as paying tribute to the huge impact that New York has had on music history. New York City’s first Culture Clash, Giorgio Moroder’s first US DJ gig, Brian Eno’s 77 Millions Paintings exhibit, a public lecture with Erykah Badu and James Murphy – it was a jam-packed collection of shows.

We’re pleased to announce today that we’ll return to New York City this May for another month-long series of music and art events. As a legacy to the annual Academy workshop that was hosted in New York last year, the Red Bull Music Academy Festival New York will become an annual public event series. Tickets, show schedule and line up will be announced in the coming weeks on redbullmusicacademy.com/NYC.

In the meantime, check out our new film What Difference Does It Make? A Film About Making Music, which was produced at the 2013 Red Bull Music Academy in New York.
