Yeah, but you reminded me I have a question for you folks down there.

Is the Glasshouse always such a violent bloody mess? My man and I have been down there twice now and both times fights have broken out on the dance floor (we're talking a Rapture show a couple years back and the post-Coachella Hives/Rapture show last year). The first Rapture show was definitely the ugliest -some of you might remember me coming on here to go 'what the fuck?' after that one-with the band stopping several times, threatening to end early, etc. Then at the Hives some guy was smashing himself into people so violently that a girl appeared to have a broken ankle when she emerged from the melee he'd created, which he continued to create after hurting several people.

So we vowed never to go back (great shows--too much drama to fly in for), not guessing the universe would laugh in our faces and plan a YYYs show there to which we'd be granted tickets.

So...always this weird? Just bad luck? Do tell.

It's been several years since I've seen a show there, and most of the shows i have seen there were punk shows...but yes, there has been a pretty violent fist fight almost every single time I have been to the Glasshouse, either inside the venue or right out front. Not sure what it is about that place.

I've been to lots of lots of Glasshouse shows over the years and while it does tend to get a little crazier, full on fist fights are very rare (happen more at punk and hardcore shows where the audience is 90+% male), but I also attribute it to a younger crowd with less concert options available to them because of the area they're in (vs same age group in LA county), hence the lack of concert etiquette and unnecessary moshing. Had that poor kid gone to more shows, he would've known he didn't need to get that crazy at a Hives show.

I've been a few times in the past couple of years and there were no problems. The crowd was actually pretty fun. There's a bar next door where the bands will sometimes hang out after the show.

I've been to glasshouse shows off and on for probably 10+ years and I have never once experienced any fist fights. Even the mosh pits have been pretty tame. After reading some of the other replies in here, I wonder if I'm just lucky, or oblivious. It is an all ages venue, though, so I can understand fights occasionally breaking out... especially at the Punk/Hardcore shows that go on.

I've only seen one fight at the Glasshouse. I think it was at the Dim Mak show with DJ AM/ Steve Aoki. This one shirtless rolling dude kept coming up to me saying "We need to get on some of these chicks". It was kinda creepy cause...well I didn't know him. Pretty much he gets rejected all night just bouncing around raving then when the show lets out he & his buddies got into a fight with some other dudes and lost.
