It doesn't sound pretentious - that was all genuine. Great review and glad you had a good time.

Darn... I was aiming for pretentious! But thanks. That looks like it was my final show for the year unless something pops up last minute. Good way to end.

Very much hungover from last night's great Yo La Tengo show but before I go drink more with Santas today(see some pics of this great event: http://gothamist.com/2010/12/12/sant...ll.php#photo-1, I wanted to let you all know that YLT won't be playing Coachella next yearThey'll be heading to the west coast in May so that probably means they'll be at Sasquatch! Special moments from Night #7: Andrew Bird sat in with YLT and played the whole main set, Devendra Banhart showed up for the encore, comedians were Jon Glaser and Jon Benjamin, and Titus closing out their set with the Modern Lovers "Roadrunner"!
Wow.

From what I understand, you're pretty respectful about how you take pictures and film. Most people are dipshits about it though.

Who wants my two tix to Ty Segall? Going to see Weeknd and buddy who said she would take them bailed. First one to PM gets them.
Putting the offer in this thread because it is frequented by (mostly) useful people.
I think you probably made it. Show ended just before 11:30.
That being said, this was the best perormance I have seen from The Weeknd. A couple of the new tracks from The Trilogy dropped in along with some different songs from the catalog. Even only being 75 mins it felt easily half an hour longer than that. They finally nailed the pacing and the band was super spot on. And the whole no camera email was really just an illusion. The only thing security did differently was they searched bags at the front. oh, and somebody threw their panties onstage, haha.
Also, the new songs sound really good.

For the LA folks:
Anyone ever been to a seated show at the Echoplex before? The Archer Live! show is part seated, part standing room only... Kind of curious to see how that's going to work out...
