FYI Mondo Generator is Nick Oliveri's long time side project . Wino is the dude from St. Vitus, Shrinebuilder and a ton of other bands. Savious is an awesome stoner metal band that sounds like early Mastodon and The Sword.

So the name is basically named big generstors as in playing desert shows.
Yeah, pretty much. The project actually pre-dates QOTSA. Brant Bjork plays drums btw. I've seen them probably 5 or 6 times over the years, maybe more, and the shows are crazy fun. It's been a few years now though.

Aha, didn't realize it was a full tour. I know he's done L.A. one-offs quite a bit in the past. I saw a great "Nick Oliveri & friends" show many years ago that was essentially a Mondo show with a bunch of guests like Mark Lanegan and Chris Goss.

Indeed nosurprises12, great company to be with last night! The pit was a lot of fun to be in last night! Great non-stop energy. I took a quick clip when I was in the thick of it all.
Also, Thanks IceyHotshot for the heads up on the Andrew Bird shows, got myself a pair for Friday's show!
Luckily for me, Largo has strict rules against talking/using phones/being annoying, so even if they don't care, they at least won't bother me during it.
It's an awesome venue. But yes, last time I went, the older people next to me in line had never even listened to Andrew previously.

I wanted to go Thursday/Friday but its sold out Friday, so I'll be squealing with joy all through Thursday night. Really thank you, I missed out on his last set of Largo dates and was super bummed. Speaking of which, are the Largo nights like rarities sets or just regular ones?

BIG shout out to IceyHotShot for covering a ticket to Thursday night of Andrew Bird for me. Stand up guyLargo ticket service would NOT work in any way for me, with any card, to the point that I missed out on Friday night after trying a 100 times. Anywho, very excited for this as Andrew Bird was great at Coachella but an intimate solo show sounds even better, and my first time at the Largo. Looking forward to hanging out at your favorite venue watching your favorite artist!
It really depends. Bird has a fairly long history with the Largo. The last couple times he played there he performed a set mostly of tunes he was working on at the time in their early stages, which later became part of Break It Yourself. Since he was working on a new album at that time and to my knowledge won't be this go, I imagine it will be fairly different. Don't know what to expect exactly except that I emailed his manager asking if it would be a full band or solo show, and he said it would be "a bit of both, and an 'Andrew Bird and friends' type evening".
knytt, let's lobby his management to get him to play some Bowl of Fire songs. Case In Point has been a favorite of mine forever.
Also, I'm glad y'all got tickets - even if not to the days you wanted - I know you guys will appreciate the shows and it will be fun to meet up with you at or after the show. Last time I didn't stick around afterwards, but maybe there's a chance this time if I wait around I can even meet Andrew and snap a picture, which would be pretty awesome.

Unf, Bowl of Fire songs would be so wonderful, I'd go crazy for How Indiscreet. I never thought I'd hear a song of theirs, but holy shit, if it was ever gonna happen it might be at this show. Sheeit. I'll see if my Media manager can get any more info.
I will definitely try and stick around after Thursday night and freak out with you guys. This is honestly gonna be a top-10 2013 show within like the first two weeks. Unreal.

RE: The Andrew Bird Shows. I remember the last time he was there but don't recall if he stuck around and jammed out in the little room afterwards. Do you know if he did or not Icey? If he does, I'm thinking the Friday show has the best shot of having one.
On side note. Went to the largo last night for Demetri Martin and he brought out Colin Hay (lead singer of Men at work) who totally stole the show w/ a blend of comedy banter and acoustic songs. Definitely recommend catching him next year at Largo.

I brought my mom to the show last time, and I didn't want to make her stay out later, so I don't know if he visited the Little Room or not.
