Yes it's in the middle of Griffith park and there are a ton of picnic areas right around it.

Man... I don't know if their sound guys are to blame or if the venue is to blame... but goddamn I was disappointed with Metric tonight!
ALL you could hear in the pit was the guitar... I could barely hear the vocals until the acoustic version of Gimme Sympathy to close out the night.
yeah, their sound was all bad in the pit. Some of the slower stuff was fine, but anything with a lot of guitar was basically shot.
I did approve of the Big Lebowski reference, however.
also, I thought Half Moon Run were super good. I definitely want to catch them in a smaller venue.

Was 2nd row and the vocal level was wonky since you are behind the PA system speakers and they didn't have many monitors you'd catch the vocals from. Moved to the very back of the pit on the rail and the sound was just about perfect. Bass may have been a little high if anything.
Metric played from 8:45-10:15
Fun show. New songs sound great and Emily is generally awesome on all counts. And Half Moon Run were excellent. A wonderful discovery.
Peter Gabriel at the Santa Barbara Bowl tonight - show of the year for me. And John Cusack was there. With Cameron Crowe.
I bet he will play a couple of other songs. Probably nothing off age of adz.
RAPE STOVE
white power?!
Yea I really struggled with this one. TM released some plumb seats yesterday for it, just like I figured they would. But my concert budget money is already mostly dried up for October and I couldn't swing another $100+ for him. Really bummed out. Was set list the same as Hollywood Bowl?

Interesting what will call/paperless for GA Floor results in for arena shows. The floor at Black Keys at Staples was empty. Could leave and come back and be 10 feet from the stage. Muse was easy too
I'm not sure how it being will call/paperless has anything to do with how many people are on the floor at a show. I feel like you think it has something to do with deterring scalping, but considering the show was sold out, don't you think the floor tickets would have all been sold too? I don't know what logic is being used here. I was surprised at the crowd on the floor during Black keys too, but I assumed it was a capacity cap.

It totally is to defer scalping - no question there. But I think it is resulting in people eating tickets because they dont pick them up and eat them. I saw the stack at Staples of unclaimed envelopes when I showed up 20 min before they went on - there were a ton. This is why the state of NY outlawed paperless - gives you no option to sell for face or refund in the event you cant go. I dont know how often that happens to you all but it does with me frequently and I have no option but to eat.
Damn you LA!
