I thought New Order were great tonight! Really fun show, and I was surprised that they're doing Joy Division songs - I thought they had made a point in the past of staying away from them. Was nice that the whole crowd stood the whole time (and the place was sold out), although of course everyone was lifeless. And I just don't understand why people will film a song from the back of section B when they can clearly see 400 other cell phone cameras filming it at the same time.

I am finding many of the big acts I like these days are good at that. Tool and Roger Waters are also excellent from further back. I still get a charge from being up close, but don't find it all that necessary.
Man, the PG buzz is still happening for me. What a show! I've got Neil Young next. Gonna be interesting to see what he brings to the Bowl- my first time seeing him!

Well - Ceremony, yes, though that's a grey area. They played "a reworking of" Isolation mid set, then encored with Transmission (I think) and Love Will Tears Us Apart (for sure). I did think it was cool they were playing them. I also thought it was fairly inappropriate to have strobe lights during Isolation.

I wonder if John Cusack will make an encore appearance in Santa Barbara. Ha, probably not.
Seeing the Keys tomorrow at Honda Center, what time did Tegan & Sara go on at Staples? Decided to catch them.
Aaaand Smashing Pumpkins on Sunday. Busy week of shows.
Well you could right but maybe they were trying to give people seizures and have Ian Curtis dance off.I also thought it was fairly inappropriate to have strobe lights during Isolation.

They did not play Transmisson. Encore was Atmosphere and Love Will.
Atmosphere was my favorite! What a great show.

They've been playing a few Joy Division songs for at least a few years now... I last saw them in 2006 and I know they played Love Will Tear Us Apart then... pretty sure they played one or two others... (but my memory is a bit hazy on specifics there... it was six years ago, after all)
Mumford and Sons added a 2nd Hollywood Bowl show, November 12.
