    Excellent. Thank you.

On a separate note: I wonder what this Conor + Jenny show is all about. What music can we expect to hear?

Damn. And the Biggie thing was not a hologram, contrary to any rumors. Just a fancy projection.

I would heartily disagree with this argument. Godspeed, Mogwai, Silver Mt. Zion, Slint, Tortoise and The Sea and Cake all impressed me more than Mono.

I still haven't seen Mogwai, The Sea and Cake, or Slint. Mono stood out from the other acts you mentioned. At least for me. I'm still pissed Mogwai had to cancel their Sasquatch set.

EDIT* If we're counting Sigur Ros then they'd be my #1 without a doubt.

Yeah, and Sigur Ros. Forgot them.

What was the setting in which you saw Godspeed? That makes a big difference for them.

Sigur Ros is kind of in that gray area I guess. Mono was incredible when I saw them in '09, but definitely a tier below Godspeed and Mogwai. Far better than Explosions, though.
    4/27 - Ghost BC - Fonda (?)
    4/29 - Franz Ferdinand - Wiltern (?)
    4/30 - Mono - Troubadour (?)
    5/03 - Philip Glass - Royce Hall

I've never seen Godspeed, but this seems like my thoughts exactly regarding Mogwai, Mono, and Explosions in the Sky.

Mono is very good live. Go see them, Vigo.

That is debatable but what is not debatable is that they're frequently classified as such.

Biggie was a fucking floating face. Tupac was a replica of the human that walked around and mimicked the real one.

tupac was a fancier projection, but still not a hologram.

Right. It wasn't the projection that made it so impressive, it was the fact that they created a fake human from scratch. That doesn't equal "hologram." I doubt the projection techniques were even any different from each other.

EDIT: FYI there are problem going to be either no or VERY few other things that are equivalent to the Tupac thing. that was months and months of intensive work and a lot of money for a a couple minutes of footage. It's a tremendous amount of work that isn't going to add up to enough in profits for anyone in the end.

The tupac was an old magic trick called a peppers ghost. Disney uses it in the haunted mansion ride. You know, when the ghosts are dancing in the ballroom.

It was an average Jay-Z show at best....I don't know since it was the first night but it took us almost an hour to get into the venue because of metal detectors in the entrance!

Definitely true. Saw Godspeed twice at Brooklyn Masonic Temple and twice at the church (St. Paul) in 2011. Sound was very different in both, but I didn't think it sounded bad at the temple. But the reverb was just very intense inside church show. It also makes difference on where you stand inside a venue. The show was actually louder in the back than the front, but it was clear everywhere (if you go to enough shows, you know right in front of the sound board is where you'll hear the best ) Most importantly, atmosphere for those shows were perfect. Definitely much better setting than seeing them inside a warehouse at ATP NYC this year.

    Temple show

Church show (I was filming this behind the soundboard because we were all smoking a bowl before this song haha. Good memories!)
