Bombay Bicycle Club have a slew of dates, as do Mewithoutyou; why not post those dates too? This is not a California thread.

But hey, I must just be in a bad mood; I've been complaining for years about how obnoxious this thread is for non-Cali people and normally I'm happy enough with ignoring this thread and/or putting main offenders on ignore without any fuss.

It does take some time to post a well-formatted list of dates on here instead of simply posting a link if the only source is ticketmaster or pollstar, but if I've got the scoop i'll usually go through the trouble of coy/pasting and deleting all the junk.

Yes, and I should acknowledge this. And, of course, it is pointless for me to argue through the proxy of your wording.

It does take time; that's why I just linked to tour schedules (and really, I should have made it clear that that is what I was doing.)

And thank you, full tourdates, etc helps keep this thread useful and interesting for other people.

Otherwise this is more or less Karl Malone's thread, except about LA rather than Chicago.

I like signatures. WHy get rid of them all because of one person? I may as well ignore Spooks (except he helped me get RH tickets once).

Yeah, what Drinkey and Cutter said. Also, many times LA and NY shows get announced before an entire tour since most bands build their schedule around touring those cities. A few pages ago several people noted that this thread is one of the few that benefits from reposting of info, so my suggestion is for people that want to take the extra 20 seconds of googling (because i sure don't....) is

I saw them last Thursday. They were ok. Nothing special, and i really like the new album. We missed the first couple songs, but they seemed to just stick to playing their songs and nothing else (no psychedelic freak out jams a la Deerhunter). It was a really short set too. They played less than an hour and they said they wanted to play longer, but that they ran out of material. It wasnt a bad show by any means, but if they were at Coachella I'd probably skip them.

Death Cab for Cutie played an amazing selection of their songs tonight, including a Velvet Underground cover, and the Magik Magik Orchestra orchestra that is touring with them really brought their music to new highs. It was quite an experience to hear the band accompanied by a 9 piece string section in a place like the Disney Concert Hall. One of the most unique experiences I've had attending concerts.

O, and Youth Lagoon were really good. I've been trying to catch them since their record came out, and their 30 minute opening set was plenty for me to enjoy. I'll definitely be checking them out again when they have another release out. They ran off to the echo after their set so I guess I will get to see how their own gig went once people get home

Youth Lagoon was really, really good. I like the album a good amount, but the live show was so bass-y, so in your face. The guitar player was such a wonderful accompaniment to the music, and the two were completely in sync the whole time. The Echo doesn't often get mentioned when speaking of the better sounding LA venues, but man when the sound there is dialed in like it was tonight it can be really fantastic.

haha don't even get me started with Death Grips. Enough people posted about them on facebook....more importantly, does anyone care? nah...

    1) Dudes need to shape the fuck up. I love Zach Hill as a musician... but as a person the dude has got to fucking get his shit together if he wants to not have this all go way over his head. I mean, the dude has been touring all across the world for years... finally gets a solid project going since Hella with some guys and then they cancel a tour for like their third time? Then people start coming out about how the individual members are (which I know the truth about Zach Hill, always have, seen facts of his shit) and it's all starting to add up that either these dudes don't give a shit in the worst way possible, or they're full of themselves in the worst way possible.

Either way, the music remains great, but fuck them and their shady bullshit.

    2) The way certain people on here are reacting to this is wayyy out of context in terms of the way these guys work... If any of you could grasp a single second's substance of their message that they portray in their music well then you would comprehend that following the ordinary model for a musician to tour once an album is released is THE last thing this group is concerned with. Instead they are offering TWO full blown pieces of work which would give you 3 releases to listen to from a group, who would be, at that time only two years into their formation. Yeah sure that doesn't mean what they did was all dandy and fine and everyone should be smiling about it but if you sat on this comment box and pulled out a "OMG YU GUYZ CANT DO DISSS" or a "WUZ IT LA RIED DAT SAID U CUDNT COME OUT 2 PLAYYYY??" - well then you don't understand that this group probably cares more about finishing off that album that they promised EVERYONE they would release under a major label, than all of our shitty little opinions, including mine......YO WHO THE FUCK AM I KIDDING THO, FLATLANDER THE FUCK U PLAYING U AT SON? ZACH...THE FUCK U PLAYING AT SON? RIDE.....WHY THE FUCK IS YOU TOO BUSY TRIMMING DAT BEARD TO PLAY A SHIT LITTLE SET FOR US SON?
