Tom, I saw Ozo over the summer and they were quite entertaining. They mixed rap, middle eastern, reggae and latin music up in a strange little cacophony (that's my new favorite word). It's hard to believe Cut Chemist used to be part of the group. When I used to live in the OC, people would rave about them all the time. I missed out.

And yeah, there are a bunch of shows that I would like to go to but can't at this particular time. It really sucks.

I'm looking forward to whoever is playing in front of the ice skating ring tomorrow night in Pershing Square.

damien rice KILLED last night, as did the swell season and the opening kid. so so so so good. i can't wait to see him again next year. keriann, he was in a great mood last night and joked around with the audience and told us all these stories (really long story about the story behind volcano). someone yelled out happy birthday and he said "youre late!" and everyone laughed, and then vivienne started to sing, and everyone chimed in and sang him happy birthday again. he was about to play accidental babies, but he started cracking up and was like great, im trying to get all serious here and you guys are laughing. and he took that as his cue to go offstage and let vivienne do her song (london man on the motorway again). he told us a story about how easy it was to make O because he didnt give a shitt what anyone else thought of him at the time, but since then he's been very aware of what the media and everyone thought of him and his music, so he took a lot of time off and when he got to the point where he didnt give a shitt again, he wrote coconut skins. he was like "i know im all 'earnest' and shitt all the time" - and then he starts to imitate himself singing "i can't take my eeeeeyes of of youuuuuuuuu" and everyone started cracking up.

In re: Nando's and John's discussion of the paper chase on the old board.

I love me some paper chase. "Hide the Kitchen Knives" is easily my favorite album. "Im Gonna Spend the Rest of My LIfe Lying" is my favorite song, barely beating out "Ever Since the Turn." God Bless Your Black Heart is a great album, too.

I am planning on road tripping it on up to Columbia, MO next saturday to see the Tigers play Bobby Knight's Red Raiders and then head to a little called called Mojo's to see the paper chase. Bad luck for me thought, that EITS is not playing that show for some reason.

Unfortunately, I was really disappointed by their new CD. You can read my review of it here.
