Joshi also put to rest all those Coachella 2008 rumors for now, remarking that "we'll see how the summer shows go first." Since said summer shows occur after Coachella 2008, um, yeah. The band has added yet another gig at London's Roundhouse in the middle of their all too brief return to the stage.

The quote is kind of taken out of context as it is. Read the original story and it says some other things to not really really put it to rest. Besides, why would their manager spill the beans?

Usually managers just don't comment on such matters. Whenever someone of authority says a band isn't playing, it's true. I just hope it's still being negotiated like previous articles have stated.

But if MBV doesn't play Coachella, I'm not paying for any of their albums. Steal all the way.

That's ok. I've seen MBV twice (on the Loveless tour w/ Dinosaur Jr!) and I don't think their sound would work on the Polo grounds. I equate it to Explosions in the Sky's set at Coachella this year, which was awful compared to seeing them at the Metro 2 months earlier. Go see MBV at a smaller venue when they do a North American tour and you will enjoy it 100 times more!

I think more sources should post more stories about bands playing Coachella so more bands can deny it so we can have almost every band in the world not playing Coachella.

i'd almost prefer to see them at the outdoor theater instead of the mainstage. as long as the mixing guy isn't a total idiot and doesn't cap out the volume so as to not disturb the greenday fans across the way, they would be great. trust me.
