Well, The Locust and Tool already played. At least, it's something.
I'm glad bands like Metallica or Cannibal Corpse have small or none chances of playing at Coachella, but other bands not as 'heavy' could fit.. like Boris. Or even Pendulum, they still play drum and bass but now with some metal sounds for their live perfomances.

led zepellin would be the shit
hang the fucking d.j.
It's not shocking to think there will be some metal this year. They've already had Coheed and Cambria, Fantomas, Rage, Tool, Wolfmother, Thrice, Queens of the Stone Age...I think these bands fit a lot better than Madonna did (although Thrice sucks). If you notice, almost every band/artist that's ever played Coachella has had one thing in common: a "thinking person's band/artist", and how loud the guitars are haven't seemed to matter. Dumb metal brings dumb people, smart metal brings smart(er) people. There are exceptions, like the Tool dickheads running around in 2006. Personally, I vote for Mastodon.
how about: QUIET RIOT, MOTLEY CRUE, OZZY, TRIUMPH, JUDAS PRIEST, SCORPIONS, AND THE MIGHTY VAN HALEN!!! oh never mind, i already saw that at us festival 83'. "DON'T HATE THE PLAYER, HATE THE GAME"
Well, I would say, if any metal, it would have to be good metal that's gonna appeal to a bunch of music listeners and not meatheads that jut wanna mosh and bang their head to whatever generic breakdown would cause them to.
I SAY LET'S GET:
HIGH ON FIRE
FUCK YEAH...AT LEAST ONE OF THEM!!!!
