Everyone was talking about Splatoon, at least on Treehouse Live. I really liked it. Mario Maker is like mario paint all over again. Very cool. I'm looking forward to getting several of the Nintendo offerings. Sucks most of it comes out 2015.

I get it that the last "Alien" game was a pile of shit, but this is by a completely different developer, and has been in the making for 4 years. It's also "survival/horror" which I know is pretty popular right now, but this game is literally like you're experiencing the original 1979 film. The developers even said that every model/texture/object in the game, wasn't made unless it would have been possible to make it on the actual movie set back in 1979, so it really comes off as having that authentic feel. With both the Order and Batman being delayed, I'd say this is easily my most anticipated game of the fall, with LBP3 right behind.
I played this yesterday. It looks amazing and it's really immersive, and scary, and challenging. It is absolutely not the kind of game that i like, so I would never buy it though.

I got in the alpha test for Destiny, and I played for a couple hours yesterday. The world is breath-takingly beautiful, the controls are super smooth, and the way online multiplayer comes in and out is perfect and seamless. Really good game. The only downside was that when I was playing with two others in a mission that tested us pretty hard (we died a lot) I got disconnected from the server just when things were really getting crazy. The downside to online games, I suppose. Still, I had a blast. I also really like how they integrate the RPG features — it's very similar to Borderlands.

I think I'm also in the beta test, so I'm going to try and take advantage of the game while I have it. I'm really considering buying it. My only hesitations are that I don't have a lot of time on my hands these days. Especially for RPGs, which require so much investment.

Destiny is being done by the team that did the first 3 Halo games so I trust that it'll be pretty good.

I wasn't expecting the newest South Park game to look exactly like the show. Such an entertaining and hilarious play-through.

The last yoshi game I have played was Yoshi 64, and I remember within thirty minutes of playing that the game was really easy and being frustrated because I had been waiting for the release of it thinking it was going to surpass Super Mario world 2 :Yoshi island. As well Kirby Epic Yarn which also the same people making Yoshi wooly world you couldn't die by the enemies like Yoshi 64.

I highly recommend picking up Valiant Hearts, another beautiful 2D aventure (set during WWI) from Ubisoft (they seriously have the prettiest 2D engine out there). I saw some tidbits on it at E3, but had no idea it was releasing this month. Downloaded it this morning, and beat it in about 6-7 hours. Definitely a candiate for my GOTY so far (along side Wolfenstein, though Wolfenstein probably wins at this point).

I was just coming in here to talk about Valiant Hearts. I got to play it at E3 and was totally enamored with it, and was really surprised when it just came out last week. I played through the first two chapters this weekend, and it's really great. The story and the animation/music are great, and I am a sucker for puzzle/adventure games.

Have you noticed many glitches menik? I have had two pretty big ones - the first car chase just kept cycling forever at the very end of it, so I had to quit and replay the level. And then in Ypres, I completed the whole section with the first 2 buildings, climbed under the church and avoided the bombs and got to the house with well. I quit and when I continued the next day, I spawned back in Ypres, with my missions having been visually completed, but the bell was had not crashed through the floor and even though it was invisible at the top of the tower, I could strike it. But it would let me pull the chain and ring it, so I was totally stuck. Luckily you can choose levels and replay through whatever section you want, but it was still frustrating having to replay that whole section again.

I've read about those bugs, but I never ran across them myself...the game played almost flawlessly for me except two things: A) early on, the game crashed once (gave some error code) and booted me back to PS4 home page. and B) a couple times my character got stuck walking in a corner and I couldn't get them out without a lot of button mashing. Minor gripes.

Playing Super Metroid for the first time still and while playing today I had to cheat and look at a walkthrough to remember how to do a space jump and where the hell I was suppose to be going. I keep playing this game in spurts so I'll end up spending 10-20 minutes just wondering around trying to remember what I did last or what parts of the map have I been not and why. Now that I got the hang of the space jump I feel like I could fly through rest of the game pretty quickly if I just play Super Metroid consistently. That last boss Dranco? was pretty fucking intense when he grabs you.

Yeah that bastard was the only boss I had to try multiple times before I got him. I forgot about the whole "grappling hook to the open electric currents on either side of the room" trick.

I played Paper Mario back on the 64. I never beat it, but I really liked it. Actually, I picked up Paper Mario: Sticker Star for the 3DS based on my fond nostalgia for the original. It is also a spectacular game, but I also haven't beaten it because I'm stuck on a level and don't know what to do. The games have an adorable design with all the fun of a traditional Mario game (plus RPG elements).

The paper mario on wii was excellent. It took me a long time to finish too so if you're looking for a game to play for a while, I'd highly recommend it.

So I forgotten if I have talked about Pikmin 3 or not, but either way I have to say/repeat that I really really love this game. I have never played the previous two games and maybe I'm fortunate since reviews have said, "it is more of the same but that's not a bad thing" type of deal for Pikmin 3. I feel like you either have to completely not be paying attention to one of your characters and just send them through some of the baddies or just not trying at all to lose at this game. When Yoshi's Story came out, I was extremely disappointed with how you can't die which I felt gameplay affected the gameplay. In Pikmin 3, that's not case; managing your characters to explore, gather food & solving the puzzles, the battles you have with your pikmin, and character design all just make me want to play more regardless of the actual game being hard. If anything I can see myself playing this game over again a couple of times or just out of boredom to see what is the least amount of days it takes me to complete the game. Definitely a game to play if you like Lemmings or Simant. Here's a IGN video review incase you're really bored.

I just learned that Bandai Namco are also helping Nintendo with the new Super Smash Brothers as they did with Mario Kart 8 as well.

The Vita is awesome! I love mine (and I hardly use it for remote play, I'm just talking the native games). Uncharted, LBP, all the PSP titles, PS1 titles, indies, etc. Anyone who shits on this system clearly has never picked one up and played with it.
