Spoon good Fiest bad.
I liked the shadow play/overhead projector art they did behind her as the back drop. And when she danced and sang behind the shadow screen when she first came out.
The only other people I have see do a projection like that is Tim & Eric Awesome show Good Job and Final Fantasy.
The Final Fantasy one was weird because at one point they were doing the 8 schools of magic from Dungeons and Dragons. Very bizarre.
i say "go to the show". i know stuff is a matter of perosnal tatse, but Feist is all there when it comes to people who get on stage and make music. She plays and sings beautifully. She wrote a bunch of great songs. She gets the crowd connected. i love her.
When she was on Saturday Night Live a couple of weeks ago, she killed it.
And a lot of people may be burned out on "1234", but i don't think it can be denied the song is a "song of the year" that became huge not just with the help of the luck of the ipod lottery, but also by being one of those needed bright spots in seriously shitty times.
If you have the chance to check her out, you might be impressed.
Did she play Lover's Spit? And Spoon is the worst band I've ever seen live, I saw them at the Fonda in September and they were dry and dead. Boring, the crowd was dead too. Perhaps it was just an off night.
Anyway, this is from when I saw Feist at the Wiltern back in June. One of those performances that for some reason you won't ever forget. I don't need to tell anybody here but it was really something else live.
