Spreckels is pretty much the best venue of this bunch for them, IMO. I did love the Shrine though for the AF shows. Thanks for the link!

Bon Iver on Fallon again tonight, not a rerun of when he was on a few weeks ago apparently.

I might make a small trip out of the San Diego show. Get a hotel for the night, during the day hit up Sea World and the Zoo, go to the show and bar hopping at night.

I'm pretty sure my perception of the popularity of bands is completely off, because these seem like venues far too huge for Bon Iver to me.

So explain how what I have listed below makes him look ''unpopular'' and ''too small'' for the venues he is playing?

    Chicago Theater
    Capacity: 3600

Let them think it Chris. Less people trying at on-sale time.

Is it just me or are Justin Vernon's lyrics hard to interpret most of the time? Sounds like he's wailing over and over.

Oh I wasn't saying that he's unpopular by any means, I was just sort of shocked to see him playing the same venues as Arcade Fire. As well as pointing out my own egregious misunderstanding of music popularity.

Considerign last time Bon Iver was here, and he performed to almost 5000 people over the course of a weekend, and that was in 09, tell me how they are far off on gauging things?

edit: oh yeah, Arcade fire played Spreckels in 07, too big for Bon Iver?

I'm not saying he should be in smaller venue, or anything of the like, I think it's great. I was simply expressing personal bewilderment as I didn't realize he was quite that popular.

Chris you don't always have to be so aggressive for no reason. It's tiring.

No, he's like that to everyone. It's like he has blinders on when he responds or something. Complete tunnel vision compared to what is happening in the thread. It's weird.

I've been to a bunch of non-massive shows there. I just dislike a lot of things about the venue and sound, getting there in general.. the neighborhood. ughs.

    No thanks.

It's a lot of effort on a monday night, I agree. I like the venue though.

I love his cover of Bonnie Raitt's song titled " I can't make you love me".
His music for me is a grower, at first I wasn't too keen but after a while I loved it.
