I'm out of the loop because I never go to shows anymore. It is retarded, yes. I just forget things are happening, or am not aware of them in the first place.
That said, an extra ticket to the show tomorrow night would be great. Anyone?
I just have to chime in that the Holocene->Stetson solo->Blood Bank combo from night one was simply amazing. It's like the Power Out->Rebellion of melodramatic music (although Blood Bank had a ridiculously great amount of energy). Creature Fear and the ending that came after it was also another great highlight from a great performance.

I wish they'd play Brackett, WI regularly. That was the first song I ever heard from em, and its still one of my favorites.
They did some the week before coming west. So close.
Yeah, I was also hoping to hear it. Well, maybe next time.

Bon Iver played the Chicago Theatre last time they were here and it's a nice venue that sounds pretty good. Now they're playing the fucking UIC Pavilion where the sound is shit and the environment just does not seem conducive to the kind of aural output this band can produce. Really fucking frustrating.
I haven't listened/seen this dude in over 3 or 4 years (think last time I saw him was at Sound fix record store in early 2007) but very surprised to see how popular he's gotten the past few years. Looking at those pictures from October shows....he's playing with 9 piece band now? Holy crap! Anyway for those that are interested in never ending "deluxe" packaging that record labels love to put out after couple months, here you go.
Bon Iver‘s masterful sophomore LP will be re-released in a digital-only Deluxe Edition on November 29th via Jagjaguwar. While no new music is included, the set packs 10 short films, one for each of the album’s 10 tracks, offering a “comprehensive vision for the record captured in moving picture.”
Explains an issued press release:
“Comprised of individual visual works that both complement and enrich the audio on the album, the video accompaniment was in itself another year in the making. Featuring work by Dan Huiting, Isaac Gale, David Jensen, JoLynn Garnes and Justin Vernon, the video work is meant to be consumed as a visual extension of the music, to enhance each listener’s experience with one of the year’s most acclaimed albums. While not music videos per se, these visual accompaniments are striking in their distinctive atmosphere, and compelling works in their own right.”
The band’s publicist also adds that the films are best experienced on a “mobile device with headphone.”
The digital release will be available through iTunes. In addition, a limited number of DVDs will also be made available for giveaway when you buy the record at participating record stores or through Jagjaguwar mailorder starting in early December.
I saw Bon Iver with Fleet Foxes in Phoenix, and while I loved it, I felt it was a little too short. I think they only played for like an hour and fifteen minutes.
But Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes were really "co-headliners" and the Walkmen were the openers, right? That's gotta add up to a solid 3 hour show.
Yeah it did. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the walkmens set but that combo of fleet and bon was the shit.
I think both dates are sold out already - not even sure they made it to the online sale. I might try to snag a ticket off craigs.

Looks to still be some decent pickings.

Have you guys checked this performance yet? Great stuff!
Just bought a ticket for an arm and a leg to see him at the Sydney Opera House on 3.13. I will be there for work and figure its a once in a lifetime thing to see someone I love at a venue like that. Prob the most I have ever paid for a show face or scalped but whatever. Still stoked!
