you need to have winzip or some software installed. winzip is like $20, there are freebies out there too.

Well shitnit. He's doing me a favor, so I can't really suggest he spend $20.

WinRAR is better than WinZip. You can get it free, just search for WinRAR on Google.

right click the folder you want to zip and go "Add to Archive", it defaults to the .RAR format, but you can switch that to .ZIP before clicking OK.

The Gift is still one of the weirdest songs(along with Revolution 9)I've ever listened to all the way through.
yes. it's fun though, if gruesome ironic accidental deaths are your thing.

Tom - do you have the double disc set called "Prodigal Son"? If not, I'd be happy to supply it to you. It's got a ton of his old shit, some of which appeared on "Tracks" (or whatever that thing was called). Some of it's good some of it's kinda crappy. He was trying to hard to write lyrics like Dylan in his younger days.

Are all of those live versions from the Live set? I have all of Springsteen's albums (except his most recent). I used to worship him to ridiculous extremes. Not that I don't still love him. He was a gateway drug into Dylan for me. So, gotta give him credit for that.

Lost in the Flood is off the Live at the Hammersmith '75 CD. the others are off the Live 75-85 disks.

I have found over the years the earlier Springsteen stuff (1st 3 albums) has aged better than Born In The USA or anything after that. IMO.

I don't have Prodigal Son, no, and yes I'd like to hear it.

springsteen for me was my bob dylan. really connected with his storytelling. from the river to the ghost of tom joad. also a amzing live performer. its like a fucking church revival session with southern people. such a experience when he is on. best album: nebraska and tunnel of love. i just connect with those albums.

Agreed on the Springsteen stuff. There was a live bootleg one time called "This Gun's For Hire" (a 5 album set). I remember seeing it about the same time as the Live '75-'85 that was officially released. Anyone ever hear it? I need to try to track it down.

Oh yeah, and downloading Volume 10 right now and wishing I had a nice waffle drowning in butter and syrup.

yeah I did too. Then I got to where I couldn't stand to listen to his stuff. Then I got to liking it again. I still can't listen to Born in the USA though. I find now I'm more likely to listen to The Wild The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle more than anything. Whence came 4 of the 12 songs on that mix. Yes. whence.
