On the radio they were hailing Xavier Henry as a Chris Webber type when he found his stride with the Kings, which was the third team he played for. It's ridiculous

Michael Carter-Williams with an insane state line for a debut. 22 Points, 12 Assists, 7 Rebounds, and 9 Steals. Damn

My TWolves score 40+ in the 1st Qtr., go up 17, then hang on to beat the Magic in OT. 1st game indeed.

I gotta say, it is pretty sweet finally seeing the trio of Love, Rubio, and Pek on the floor together at the same time. Didn't happen at all last year. Peculiar how short of a bench Adelman used, 0 minutes for Derek Williams and Shabazz. Kevin Martin is going to fit in fine with this team, but they still lack on the defensive end. A lot of Corey Brewer and Dante Cunnigham out there matching up as primary defenders tonight.

I like that Vukevic kid in Orlando.

Also I really fucking hate Bill McDonald as a commentator and Stu Lance just isn't that interesting anymore. It's a shame that a storied franchise as the Lakers has such a horrible commentator. Granted I'm not expecting anyone to even come close to Chick, but can we at least get someone who is competent at least?

Watching the Kings / Nuggets game. Probably the most fired up Kings' fans have been in many years. The Kings probably won't make much noise this year, but they've got some good young players. Cousins is amazing. He's a game-changing big man. Just needs to maintain his focus at all times.

I think Klay Thompson wins for today. 37 pts at the end of the 3rd, probably won't play in the 4th.

I drafted him in my league at a pick 15 spots ahead of his actual ranking. He's a sleeper ROY candidate. Unquestioned starting PG for a team that's tanking, but he'll get his numbers. He's somewhat like what Shaun Livingston should've been. Plus, he has developed range in a mere three months!

Tristan Thompson switched shooting hands this offseason and has somehow found a midrange jumper.

Just one game, but I am pretty excited going forward.
Cavs are a playoff team if Bynum stays healthy enought for 15-20 minutes for per game on a consistent basis this season. It's basically the Bulls, Heat, Nets, Pacers. and then everyone else. A playoff appearance is what a young team like the Cavs need this season.

I am very apprehensive to put the Nets in that group right now to be honest. Obviously they need time to jell, but Garnett and Pierce both looked SLOW last night. Pierce's stat line was solid, but Garnett was completely outplayed by Tristan Thompson. The Nets also need Deron Williams to get healthy fast because he looked pretty bad trying to play on a bum ankle. Everyone looked old on that team except Brook Lopez, who looked like their best player.

With all those players under 1 year contracts, aren't the Lakers just asking for selfish play this year. On one hand, you might get some nights where everyone is motivated to play hard because of it, but other nights, (most nights), won't it just be a showcase of players trying to earn longer term contracts?

And, how in the hell is that supposed to gel when Kobe gets back? I find it hard to believe that this team will make a run at any playoff spot, fans.

Opening at -7 the Clips now favored by -6 against the GS Mulatto Urine Stains as the money swings their way. Need a win tonight. Hopefully Dudley doesn't eat too much beforehand (*sigh* counting the days till Bullock takes over SF).

Celtics cruising with a 20 point lead in the third.

Now losing by 3 to the (godawful) Bucks with 15 sec to go.

Did you guys hear that the Red Sox won the World Series?

I just read this article about how to curb tanking
    http://www.buffalonews.com/columns/b...nking-20131031
I think a better way to do it would be rather than have it set like that. Just reverse the lottery. That way the 12th best team could jump up and not neccessarily the 9th. I think it would make for great competitive basketball at every city (or at least an attempt at fielding the best team). What do you guys think?

I kind of hope Wiggins decides to stay in school for another year. Obviously I know that he isn't going to but I just think that would be hilarious for all the teams "tanking" to try and land him.

Yeah, he revealed in a recent interview that his goal is to go #1 in the draft after his freshman year. Like you said, though, kind of obvious.

EDIT* Regardless, the draft is going to be loaded with or without Wiggins. Tanking still might be the best route for some teams.
