I think the match ups are absolutely perfect. With exception to the Heat, I don't see any series going less than six, everybody matches up well.

    1. Oklahoma City Correct
    2. Los Angeles Lakers Huge disappointment. They should be kicked out of the league.
    3. Denver Correct
    4. San Antonio Had more left in them than I thought
    5. Los Angeles Clippers Close enough
    6. Memphis Close enough
    7. Dallas They finished 41-41, not too terrible.
    8. Golden State Yup, I was a believer, though they even exceeded this.

MVP: LeBron James The obvious pick, but people keep trying to fight it.
ROY: Damian Lillard Will be correct on this.
COY: Avery Johnson Worst pick of all time.
Finals MVP: LeBron James TBD, but I feel good about it.

Also, relieved that the Jazz missed the playoffs. I would hate to see the franchise and city get into the mindset where "hey it's awesome to be a seven/eight seed and go out in five games in the first round every year."

    C'mon, man.
I guess santasutt was right, they really should have been picked 7th.

Because people get sick of the same guy winning it every year, so they tend to make cases for the others. He's a lock this year, but I can really see the media getting voter fatigue and feeling like it's Durant's time to win it next season. Given the different ways in which LeBron has an impact on the game, he probably should be MVP as long as he stays healthy. Doesn't work that way, though. I mean, voters justified voting for Karl Malone ahead of Jordan for MVP one year.

I thought it was funny how ESPN really tried to push the "WHO'S GOING TO GET THE SCORING TITLE?!?!?!" narrative. Who gives a fuck.

I guess the pro-Durant people did, because it would have been a big part of their "he's the MVP" narrative. But yeah, it is/was silly. LeBron could put up fifty every night, just like Magic or Bird could have in their time, but it would probably cost their teams several losses in the process.

Well yeah Durant would have needed to score 70 points for him to overtake the title. I think him resting was obviously the right call. Now if he only would have needed 30-40 points then he might have played, but still probably not as he already has won the scoring title.

Injuries and age took their toll and I was off the mark on the depth. My bad.

We will give the Knicks a series but I don't see the Green advancing.

Amnesty Pau or let it ride until Sumer of 2014 when all contracts run off? His level of play as of late has made him hard to discard.

MWP I think would be the most likely to be amnestied. If for whatever they can't trade Pau worst case he still brings a ton a value to the team where MWP doesn't really.

    HUGE

Russell Westbrook has torn meniscus, likely finished for NBA playoffs

Russell Westbrook, the Oklahoma City Thunder's star point guard and second-best player, will have surgery on a torn meniscus in his right knee and is out indefinitely, the team announced Friday.

That all but guarantees that OKC will be without Westbrook for the rest of the NBA playoffs, and it's a devastating blow for a team that began the postseason as Western Conference co-favorites with the San Antonio Spurs.

The Thunder currently lead their first-round series against the Houston Rockets 2-0.

Westbrook, 24, averaged 23.2 points, 7.4 assists and 5.4 rebonds in the regular season.

Huge for Clips. Hate to win on the backs of other teams injuries, but.....we'll take it!

Wonder if it was that play with Beverly when Westbrook was just trying to cross halfcourt and call a timeout. He was limping heavily right afterward. How fucked up.

No it just likely means now San Antonio is coming out of the west to still lose to Miami. While it would be a big help for the Clippers they still have to get past Memphis, which if Memphis continues to play like they did last night, that is not an easy task anymore.

Are the Lakers even worth watching at this point? I mean I know it's the playoffs and I'm supposed to be supporting my team but with the likelihood of Goudelock and Morris/Duhon starting in the back court isn't going to be pretty to watch at all. Not that I ever expected them to get past San Antonio anyways but fucking A.

Clips are getting by Memphis. They just had a shocker last night and the writing was on the wall by the third quarter. The path to the WCF just got a lot brighter.

To answer the Laker question. No. Blake is injured now too. It's all over.

I wouldn't write off Memphis at all, that series is a CP3 buzzer-beater away from being in the Grizzlies favor right now.

    That's a very resilient team.

erm, it should have never come down to the buzzer beater as the Clips were up late then made some bone headed errors (Odom the main culprit to no one's surprise). Grizz played their best ball last night, while the Clips stank it up, and it was still close for a while. It's all over, the war is oooohhhhoohhhohhhvahhr.

Wowwwwww so this torn meniscus is directly a result of that little collision between Beverly and Westbrook? Holy shit... that's so terrible. It was kind of a cheap/sketchy play by Beverly... going into the timeout. Obviously the same play happens like ten times a game without a problem but damn... that is TERRIBLE. For a dude who never misses a game to go down like that in the playoffs.

  28. #16138

    Default Re: It's NBA time

he has never missed one game in his entire career. Awful injury for him. Bet Beverly is getting death threats on twitter right now. He better hope they get swept so as to not have to go back to OKC.

Edit: jeez that last sentence is awful, but going to leave it.

I loved how he just put the ball down and walked away after it.

I love how he put the ball down too. He knew he got him sooooo cleanly on the chin and he knew he was fucked. I love JR... such a crazyass.
