Álthough it's a weak draft I don't want the Suns blowing picks on a guy who's an unrestricted FA at the end of the year

John Gambodoro reporting today the Suns are not pursuing anything: "The stories about the Suns being interested in Josh Smith are ridiculous, there is zero interest there -ZERO!" and "Here's why trading for Josh Smith makes no sense. 1st you have to give up players/picks to get him than you have to give him a max contract"

    also from Gambo

"Josh Smith = bad attitude, poor work ethic, max contract, emotional wreck, top 25 NBA talent who plays like top 50 & ATL doesn't want him!"
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.

The Clippers want to trade Bledsoe and Butler for Kevin Garnett? Does this seem weird to anyone else?

I don't get it either. If Garnett had an expiring contract then it would make more sense but he just signed a new three year deal. I understand the post game is the weak spot of the Clippers but Blake and D'Andre have improved this season so as long they keep getting better.

That'd be a great deal for the Clippers, and probably put them over the top. A 3 man rotation with Jordan-Griffin-Garnett o man.

Clips record of late likely strengthens CP3's MPV claims

Durant is winning MVP and Lebron is closing the gap, yes the Clippers are very dependent on CP3 but he won't win it since they're losing with out him.

Take Durant or LeBron of their teams and see how they do. Not that I ever thought CP3 would win it but what a stupid statement. Now if they were to keep winning without CP3 then that would hurt his chances.

It's really not that stupid of a statement, many beleive that in the '05 season when the Suns went on a 5 game losing streak with Nash out it helped his chances and he did end up winning

You are saying two very different things here.

Nobody does more for their team than LeBron does for his, but voter fatigue will probably give it to Durant. It wouldn't be bullshit if Durant won, he's a great player and easily the 2nd-best in the league, it's just that LeBron plays a different game than everyone else. There's no player in the league who is on a winning team and is required to be that team's best scorer, rebounder, passer/facilitator, and defender.

So you don't think that voters notice that his team was dominating when he was fit and getting blown out when he is injured ?

I agree with the statement that Durant will likely win, and that is just fine with me.

I do think that, that's exactly why I said his original statement was stupid. The point I was making was that if the Clippers continued to win without him then they would start thinking something like "Oh maybe he isn't as important to the team as we thought." It really is a moot argument because CP3 isn't winning it this year.

30pts on 11 FGA's is just plain bonkers. Take note, Kobiyashi.

If there were any doubts about who is the frontrunner for MVP, I hope they were cleared up tonight.

Agreed. At the same time, I don't appreciate the MVP as much as I used to. I mean, when people get "tired" of a player he's no longer the MVP in their eyes. Ridiculous if you ask me.
