Thread: It's NBA time

Tonight's match-up is looking so appetizing. "Your starting point guard...Stevveeee Blakeeee". Although it may feature the most lopsided calls you'll see all year.

Lakers will come out fiery on defense though, no doubt in my mind, as their backs are against the wall. Could be a classic.

I find it hard to believe the lakers are going to win tonight. In other news, Harden, woah.

You spoke to soon, and yes, Harden, woah. Like a lion let out of a cage or something. Amazing.

Pretty damn impressive. I'm getting flashbacks from his days vs. UA at Arizona State.

Congratulations to the Lakers, for being able to defeat the Detroit Pistons, the team currently resting at the bottom of the Eastern Division.

I'm just glad Cox and Time Warner made a deal. Trying to hold off judgement on the lakers until about game # 20 or so.

So, Dion Waiters and Damian Lillard have to be the top two rookies over the first week.

And Tommy, you could be right on Tristan Thompson. Assuming Tyler Zeller is ok, I wouldn't be surprised to see him replace Thompson in the starting five.

    Last night -

Thompson: 0/6, 1 point, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block, and five fouls in 32 minutes

    Zeller: 6/10, 15 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal in 24 minutes.

Huh, I wanted Harrison Barnes or Bradley Beal in Cleveland. I was pretty upset when they took Waiters.

I am completely surprised by Waiters' start. 28 points last night and knocks down seven threes. I expect him to be inconsistent this year, but his performance on the road against the Clippers was a good sign.

On a good team, I think Thompson is just a big body off the bench. I probably liked Zeller more than most coming into the draft. Out of the four first-round UNC picks, I liked Zeller and Barnes and didn't really like Marshall and Henson. Waiters has surprised me, too, but I think you're right that you'll see a ton of inconsistency from him.

You should still include Anthony Davis in your top rookies list. He got hurt, but was playing very well before that.

Clippers defeated the until now undefeated Spurs, and the Lakers drop to 1-4 versus the Jazz. The Los Angeles basketball world is slowly turning upside down... who would have thought, eh?

A little surprising that it was only 5 games in and they fired him.

But the Lakers and their fans don't accept mediocrity. Especially when you've got three future hall of famers on the squad.

Did you NOT see the Kiss of Death?

You know, but that's valid because if we are all gonna die anyway shouldn't we be enjoying ourselves now? You know, I'd like to quit thinking of the present, like right now, as some minor insignificant preamble to something else.

Damn OK, sucks because I don't think it was all Browns fault. The players just didn't really help out Brown at all by not showing up to play. However something wasn't going right and easier to fire one coach then a whole team.

Brown was DOA as Lakers' coach. It was obvious Kobe didn't like the hiring from the start. It was destined for failure from the beginning.

No big surprise here. Why did you guys even hire Brown in the first place? It would be awesome if Jerry Sloan went on to coach the Lakers. An actual good fit would be Chuck or Wilkens. Would Riley come back - probably not.

Phil's not coming back. However who the next coach is wont have the duty of taking over for Phil, they got to take over for Brown.

At this point it would prob require them paying him a Kobe like salary. He's happy not travelling and banging the owners daughter...
