I know what you mean, though, Tom. None of my teams are even competing right now (Hawkeyes, Sonics) and I'm still finding myself getting unbelievably upset at the calls (or lack of calls) on the big stage. I'm used to total inconsistency in the NBA, but when did college refs take it upon themselves to follow their lead?
UCLA is basically the equivalent of the Bulls/Jordan in the 90's - when the game is on the line, refs won't make the correct call because of its polarizing effect if, God forbid, UCLA should lose a game. Or Michael against the Jazz, against Brian Russell for the game-winner, no one will ever convince me that he didn't totally shove Russell out of the way (aka a foul), and yet it's one of the most played highlights there is. Equality would be nice in sports, but I've given up.
